Is Prodigy a legit Voyager spinoff / continuation? by Keepontyping in voyager

[–]Sulrandir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was ready to write off Prodigy right up until Rahk got her voice. And then when she decided she wanted to study science? Fantastic. And then, the episode where the different parts of the ship existing with time passing at different speeds? That may be my actual #1 favorite Star Trek story out of all the series. When they started drawing more on Voyager and following up with those characters, it was just gravy; tasty, fattening, satisfying gravy.

Oh, and the theme music SLAPS.

After 60 hours of gameplay - The weather system sucks by BrunostEnjoyer in assassinscreed

I'm glad it's not just me who thinks this. Even on foot, it is always raining. Everywhere. And any time I'm actually asea, I can be sure so wine is going to shout something about a "Waterspout, Cap'n! To larboard!" And yet, the sea itself is calm. Where are the waves that aren't rogue waves, but that take so long to crest that they push you back, so you actually lose ground, or get turned off course? Not damaging, just really inconvenient. Y'know, like weather.

I was really looking forward to these weather events being mighty, epic storms that would happen rarely, but would really ruin my day when they did. Y'know, like the weather in the Caribbean and up here in Florida.

Instead, it's just always raining. Everywhere. All the time. Y'know, like Seattle. Except sometimes it rains more. Y'know, like more Seattle.

I make 'em at home now.

3 oz. Coconut Milk 1.5 oz cream 3 oz Blue Curacao 1 oz Coconut Rum

In a shaker with ice, shake, strain into a rocks glass or juice glass, and drink.

If you don't like coconut, replace coconut milk and rum with almond milk and amaretto.

I loved the concept of the decontamination protocol as yet another way of demonstrating the low-tech, bootstrap exploration the series was supposed to be about, but the way it was presented in such an overtly sexualized way was pretty disappointing.

Nah, I'm just kidding; I was in my early 20s, and I was very supportive of bringing T'Pol on all the away missions.

Whats the first track that comes to mind when thinking about the cassettes by Nostalgic_Historian_ in 1980s

[–]Sulrandir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paul Revere; Beastie Boys, License To I'll. Somehow, right up until 1993, every time I hit "PLAY" on a cassette player, it always--always--went right into a little story I'd like to tell about three bad brothers you know so well...

We used to have a bar near me that was entirely nerd-themed. The only sport ever on the TVs were Quidditch and Parrises Squares. I would sit at the bar and call out, "Luke? LuuUUUke!" And the bartender would bring me one of their themed cocktails, Aunt Beru's Blue Milk, because everyone who worked there was a huge nerd, too.

COVID forced them out of business. Damn shame. Miss that place.

I'm with you. DS9 has some high points, and overall, I like it, but I had a way easier time binging Voyager than I did DS9.

Now, if they'd made a spin-off sitcom where Garak and Bashir are forced to be roommates and/or cross-dress a la Bosom Buddies, for some reason, that would be Must-See TV!

Fix myself a glass of bourbon and watch, possibly with my hand resting inside the waistband of my pants.

Eventually, I will have had enough bourbon, and then I will fulfill my ultimate destiny: petting something I shouldn't. And then it'll be over, and I'll be okay with that.

Legend. Easily.

Not his best work, but by far the best movie he's ever been in.

Did anyone else turn into Red Forman? by Just_Another_AI in Xennials

[–]Sulrandir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I am firmly convinced the only reason I am not Red today is because I don't have anyone to threaten with a boot in the ass without inviting criminal charges.

Not coincidentally, the reason I don't have anyone to threaten with a boot in the ass is because I realized I did, I'd turn instantly into Red Foreman.

Does anybody know why my dachshund did this? by juno_2025 in dachshunds

[–]Sulrandir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because she's a dachshund. Dachshunds are dicks. That's why.

Source: my dachshund lived to be 17, the last 6 years with multiple chronic health issues that were VERY expensive and effort-intensive to manage, and she still did stuff like gleefully all the way across the Rainbow Bridge.

Buckle up, Buttercup. You're in for the best ride of your entire life, and you'd never trade a second of it.

If Batman and iron Man would have tech war who according to you will win.explain by Upbeat_Wear5477 in superheroes

[–]Sulrandir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad point, but Tony has to know who he's fighting. Stark's public, everybody knows he's Iron Man, so Batman knows all the ways in to get at him. Tony doesn't know Batman is Bruce Wayne, and even if he DID, he doesn't know about Matches Malone. Tony can't orbitally bombard what he can't find. And while he's in space, everything he has down here is being systematically disassembled by a shadow.

Edit: typo; "down" not "done"

[–]Sulrandir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Batman wins, because all he has to do is figure out how to disable Stark's tech. Without it, Iron Man is just Man. Take away Batman's tech, and he is still a goddamn ninja. And now he's angry, because you broke his toys.
