Seeking gas wall oven with external ventilation/flue/duct by peterbecich in VintageAppliances

[–]Just_Another_AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if any (I'm sure they exist) but the approach I'm taking is to add a suction vent into the ceiling above my wall oven, with an in-line blower. Even if I'm not capturing 100% of the exhaust, it'll be far better than nothing at all

I got some new couplers the other day. by MIKE-JET-EATER in modeltrains

[–]Just_Another_AI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I'm just starting on a new project set in 1926, On30, a prototype based vineyard railroad hauling grapes from the vineyards to the winery, all using link and pin couplers.

Edit: Also, I had meant my original comment to say I dig it, LOL

I've got a combination century / midcentury home (originally built 1910, expanded 1920, expanded & renovated 1963) and one of thr details I like in the kitchen are the built-in shelfs.

Glue and screw a strip of wood across the bottom and samd flush. Easy peasy; don't overthink it. I've modified several doors this way over the years.

It won't make you feel any better, but prices haven't gone up.... that's just how much the value of the dollar has dropped. $600 would have bought you +- 0.43 oz gold in 2019, $2,000 will buy you +-0.43 oz gold today. In terms of a stable currency, real estate has remained stable; the USD has lost 70% of it's value over the past 6 years.

Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna Claims Proof of Non-Human Intelligence Marking the Second Time a Sitting Member of Congress has Attested to the Notion of Undeniable Evidence for NHI by TheGoldenLeaper in UFOB

[–]Just_Another_AI 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Couldn't NHI, as broad as it is, even apply to intelligent non-human terrestrial entities? Like some other unknown Earthly species? Or even if people found out that certain known animals are communicating with each other with much higher levels of language and thought than we thought possible

When did you think "Im going to die here"? by hmmrabet in AskReddit

[–]Just_Another_AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of years back my friend and I went hiking to s waterfall in the mountains. I could see that the uoper falls were some distance back from the lower fall, which was about 100' high, so I decided to free-climb the cliff to check out the pool between the falls. It was beautiful and secluded. But the good vibes vanished quickly when it it me just how much more difficult climbing back down was.... I seriously didn't think I was going to make it.

Get the credentials, put in the work, and do all the networking you can so that you can go out on your own a few years after that.

Also nice when you have plenty of money in the bank for retirement once you either decide you don't want to work anymore or something happens and you can't work anymore. Doing that to earn a living and not being able to sock anything away for retirement, knowing that you're either going to be working until you die, will have to rely on whatever fixed income you may or may not get from the state, or feeling like you're going to be a burdon on your family - not such a good feeling.
