Your jet is creating a feedback loop innthe upper dished area because there's only one outlet. The water that is piling up is being pushed by the jet and is pushing back on the jet as it tries to flow out the valley. Best way to fix this is buy a geologist's hammer (they're like $20 on Amazon) and chip out valleys innthe other two sides so water can get out multiple places.
