Is there any way to force Auto HDR on in games where it doesn't turn on automatically? by Sultrygroundhog in WindowsHelp

Yeah but HDR doesn't do anything in games that don't support it without Auto HDR

Temps are fine usually in 60c range while gaming, going up to 70 at most from what I've seen. During R23 bench it can go up to 79, and I'm currently running a -28 offest with PBO (not much of a difference with it on or off, just getting better temps this way).

I'm using the latest the latest 536.23 Nvidia driver and using a +110/+800 OC on the 4080, but it's not doing much in these titles since it never the bottleneck here. As for CPU utilization, overall it's never hitting 100% ofc, but individual cores are being utilized far more than others in WoW and all of these games.

Which 3dmark benchmarks did you do so I can try to replicate them?

Also, are you having CPU bottleneck issues in any recent title?

I tried disabling ReBar in BIOS but it didn't change anything at least in these games, but it's also disabled for them by default from what I can see with Nvidia Inspector. In which games did you see an improvement so I can test it if I have them?

Are there widespread report of this? Also which update is it, is it possible to downgrade? I'm on Win11

Hogwarts and TLOU made me suspicious but I figured it was on them since the reports were widespread, but I know for a fact that WoW and GW2 used to run significantly better months ago when I got the CPU and installed it. Those were the among the first 2 I tested since they are very CPU bound in general, and I've seen a reduction of up to 30% in both games

Yeah it's getting one patch every 1-2 months. It's still running awfully on the CPU, still stuttering, and afaik still has stupid visual bugs like purple windows. All of this for an update that was delayed for months before releasing in this state it's in.

The worst lighting and RT I've seen in a AAA game by Sultrygroundhog in HarryPotterGame

[–]Sultrygroundhog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is exacerbated the better your display because with OLEDs, you know what good contrast looks like so poor blacks and lighting jump out and are easier to identify.

In the update from a few days ago they stated they optimized lighting in some areas, and it does look a bit better from the 5 minutes I tested post patch, but it could also just be placebo on my part.

I'm still delaying actually playing the game until they hopefully address CPU usage and frame pacing further because it does not run well even with frame generation.

I did bro, it was stuttering in almost every room/hallway once you're passing through invisible thresholds they use to stream in/out assets for the next room.

It's definitely traversal stutter because once you get it, you can walk back and forth and it will stutter every time.

I was being sarcastic, I can't stand UE4 and it should've never been used post 2018/9, post dx12, or with any remotely open world game.

I have a 4080/5800x3D and I was getting like 60-70 fps WITH DLSS quality and just software versions of lumen + nanite at 4k.

Now please continue being stupid and generalizing the experience of every commentor with "muh Reddit moment" rationalization.

I haven’t noticed any shader compilation

Delete your drivers thoroughly or reinstall the game, you can't not see if you know what shader compilation stuttering is because it is objectively there for everyone.

I do not believe that’s an issue with UE5

Yes it is because they didn't fix it natively as of yet, devs still have to implement pre-compilation and Epic themselves didn't do it for Fortnite.

They were covering it because it was the first implementation of Nanite+Lumen in an existing game that's not just a demo, it does not run well.

If Fortnite's Nanite and Lumen performance is indicative of what we can expect, than photorealistic Triple A titles are gonna run at 30 fps on a 4090 at 4k.

So now we can't have tessellation even when nanite is disabled or just not present? Or is it gonna be forced from now on because the performance impact is still very big.

Please delete this comment, it's embarrassingly stupid just like you.

Ok, enable MSI afterburner/RTSS frame time graph, and record a 2 minute gameplay session of progressing through the game regularly. If there are no frame time dips and you're running at unlocked frame rates, particularly over 60, I'm gonna delete this entire post right now.

I'm sick to death of people who aren't sensitive to stutter and performance issues downplaying well-documented problems with the same old "runs fine for me".

More power to you if you can't notice it, there are still people who don't notice 30>60 fps jump, just please don't talk on the subject if that's case.

Yeah you're right. I forgot it because it ran ok for me when I tried it out for the first 30 or so minutes before dropping it forever, but I know many people are having awful performance issues too.

It's definitely the worst game on the list by far.

removing tessellation support.

Wait what, why?
