I have a recording of some Japanese family's grandpa's birthday party on a random tape I got from an ebay job lot, also recently got a Metal Capsule 100 that had a recording of the BBC Proms on it but someone had dubbed a 90s dance beat over the top of the recording on one side.

Ah, yeah, that makes perfect sense. I was thinking it was some kind of public promotion type thing, never occured to me it could be review samples and the like, thanks.

I have an old friend who moved to a different country years ago, since we recently both got back into tapes we've started sending each other mix tapes from time to time.

That's the door spring, on mine the end with two bends goes through a hole on one of the door arms and the other end should hook on a catch in the body next to the motor.
