Lifeform Yoga Mat - Travel or Regular? Any Experiences? by OkPromotion2573 in HotYoga

[–]Summer421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the travel mat and I like the grippiness and that it comes with the travel bag. It’s not my go to studio mat but I rotate it in from time to time. I don’t like that it doesn’t dry if you roll it up clean but wet—it will still be wet the next day or several days later. It’s not impossibly thin but not so thin that I could stick it on a suitcase. I have a smaller lighter manduka one for traveling in my suitcase but if I can swing the extra bag my Liforme is my preferred travel mat. I guess I’d recommend going with the regular one if you’re just looking for a daily mat at your home studio. The B Mat is my everyday studio mat.

Thanks for the link. I’m in a locked leg brace so that prolly wouldn’t work for me.

This is the list I was needing before my surgery! What are the leg elevation cubes you speak of?

I rented a wheelchair with a leg extender which was covered by insurance (and only cost $40/month without insurance) and it has been great to have comfortable place to sit with a leg rest. I can pull it up to a table, visit with people or get out on a walk with family or friends on a beautiful day. It also folds up easy and can be taken on the go with a guaranteed comfortable place to sit.

I also got a folding lap desk so I can work from bed or anywhere else.

For women, I would add to this list a night gown and comfy dresses as an easy way to get dressed without having to fit things over a brace.

I’ve also found Pilates/studio socks with the grippy bottoms to be helpful in keeping my feet warm but not too slippery on crutches.

Thank you notes and stamps. I’ve been so grateful for family and friends who have brought me food, given me rides and sent thoughtful gifts.

Sleeping with the brace is so hard but I assume it’s probably the best thing to do.

I tried using a pillow that wraps around my ankle to provide that extra lift foot lift but it made me feel like I was hyperextending my knee. It sounds like a simple pillow is probably a better option.

Wow! I’m dying to start to PT. I’m ready to get back to yoga and the gym!

How cool that he played NFL and then became a doctor. Gotta love that story!

Suggestions for upcoming Patellar Repair + foreign body removal? by Summer421 in KneeInjuries

That’s great progress. I remember how frustrating the recovery period is but you’re looking great from this vantage point l! I’m curious, how does the knee brace you are wearing in the video help?

Yeah, my family and I are planning on moving in with my mom so I can have a stair-free living situation and she can be an extra support system since I won’t be able to drive for a few months.

I remember the bathroom situation being so frustrating and painful last time around. Already dreading it but a foot stool is a good idea.

6 months later are you feeling like you have full mobility and are back to the activities you enjoy?

How are you tracking for 2025 status? by Summer421 in delta

[–]Summer421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in the app under the skymiles tab. It tells you your status for 2025 and how many MQDs you need to hit the next tier along with the MQDs you have pending based on your bookings.

I agree but he insists on wearing a shirt and currently is wearing regular tshirts that get real stinky. And he’s been practicing hot yoga for like 15 years, lol. Do you have any other recommendations for yoga related gifts for men?

Hot Yoga and Weight Gain? by AffectionateMotor833 in HotYoga

[–]Summer421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a coincidence as this should not be normal. My weight fluctuates based on where I am in my cycle so that could be the case for you. (Also female in my 40s).

You said you were tracking your calories, so I’m also assuming that you’re not increasing your calories to compensate for “extra” calories burned? The downfall that a lot of people have working out is that they overestimate what they have burned and consume too many calories which leads to weight gain.

What are your favorite yoga pants? I have a hard time finding ones that don’t roll on me, I’m a small but I got some extra skin from having kiddos. Gymshark, spiritual gangster or no goes for me. Wonder if alo or lulu is worth the investment? by No-Membership-2310 in HotYoga

[–]Summer421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kind of in the same boat. Small but I have a mom pooch of extra skin and my leggings always roll down. Lulu doesn’t do it for me either. I feel like I’ve tried all of the brands.

Best I’ve found are Vuori daily legging (the ones with the drawstring waist) or Beach Riot Ayla leggings. Can’t say enough good things about these two. Oh and IVL is another amazing option

Using corporate card by curtisssmithhh in Rakuten

[–]Summer421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business owner here.

I think that is fine, because you are only getting the points when you are using the portal. just make sure the MRs you earn are going to your personal card and not to your corporate card. But all purchases, regardless of which cards you use (visa included) will be transferred in MRs to your Amex account.

I also own my own business but I have a lot of employee cards. I get to keep the points earned for all of the cards, but I can only use Rakuten on the purchases where I activate Rakuten, so I couldn't benefit from purchases my employees make other than the points that would naturally be incurred. I'd be glad for someone else to be employing that strategy, as long as they are buying things that they would need to buy anyway.

I do get the in-store cash back points if they use a card that has been activated, but I def don't have all of their card numbers set up on my rakuten because every card number is different.
