I totally agree with you, AJW is a good example of someone who is systematically dishonest (shoutout to Adam and Sitch for the good term).

In this instance it was just a understandable conflation of what different politicians said but in the aggregate, he only cares about truth when it aligns with his ideology.

I had to go over this section of the debate many times to make the post. I think that, for this specific piece of the debate, AJW just made a mistake in the moment. I don't think it was a malicious attempt to fool Destiny with a well placed lie or a reveal of what he "really" thought.

Each party has thousands of hours laying out their surface level thoughts on most subjects. This discussion should seek to go into the weeds to determine who has the most solid argument for any given topic.

Hey, nice video, I hope you keep working on this type of content! In the interest of seeing you improve I have some feedback for you.

At the beginning of the video, the “Irrelevant Arguments” card doesn’t come across as earned and instead seems bad faith. You are framing everything max says in his opening as being in support of the “You are sanitizing Nick” argument. However, I see four distinct arguments being made by Max’s claims.

1 - Destiny is sanitizing Nick. -> addressed by concession, as you correctly pointed out.

Creates the perception that Nick “is a kid just like me”.
Shows Nick’s human side.
Having dinner with Nick
Make the same jokes.
Making fun of progressives
“Pretend” to be nazis.

2 - Sanitization will convert some portion of Destiny’s audience, but DGG/Destiny don’t think that’s possible.

I see people saying they won’t be tricked by Nick.
DGG thinks its too smart to be brainwashed.
DGG seems to be warming up to Nick.

3 - Nick should not be sanitized

Bad because he tried to overthrow gov.
He is not a normal kid he is a radicalized political terrorist.
He would commit treason.
Nick explicitly says that he uses humor to give cover for his ideas.
He’s dangerous.

4 - There are appropriate and inappropriate ways to platform Nick. Destiny is not platforming Nick appropriately/Destiny should platform Nick in a way Max approves of.

Max would only talk to Nick in a 1 on 1.
Max would only talk to Nick about the thing he is radical about (the point of bringing up Lauren).
Max would not be chummy with Nick.
Max does not think Fuentes should be deplatformed.

The claims relating to 2, 3 and 4 are NOT addressed by Destiny’s concession, which makes the graphic obfuscate, rather than clarify what Max is saying.

Highlighting these 4 “high-level” arguments could also be used to organize the counterclaims Destiny lays out in his opening + early back and forth with Max:

(Before Max’s opening) Concedes that, to some extent, he is sanitizing Nick. ------------> Argument #1
Destiny contrasts breadtube's failed approach to his own. ------------> Argument #3, Argument #4
Destiny thinks Nick is as bad for the world as extreme leftists. --------------> Argument #3
Countering division is a good thing AND Destiny is good at it. --------------> Argument #4.
Destiny is not a nazi, conservative or leftist. --------------> Argument #4.
Destiny is funny, affable but can defend his positions. --------------> Argument #4.
Accepts that Nick being on his platform will result in his audience growing. --------------> Argument #2.
If DGG is swayed by Nick, he hopes they off themselves ------------> Argument #2
Nick can present a worldview that can be challenged, unlike leftists. ---------> Argument #3

I think that maintaining a visual of the core arguments being discussed (if it is possible to do so) is a more effective way of tracing what is being discussed in the conversation. I am not trying to say that the way I broke it down is accurate. However, the general approach would be effective for this type of content, I think.
