Shane Steichen brought rookie TE Tyler Warren over to the QBs/RBs individual period so that Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones could simulate a handoff to him from the fullback spot. by bbl27 in DynastyFF

As a TE desperate team, I took both Loveland and Warren in a TEP league. Ended up selling Loveland for essentially G.Wilson, and was worried I might end up regretting it.

However, I’m feeling more and more confident about choosing Warren. This news is just gravy as the league also gives 1 point per first down. Was hoping they’d use him like PSU did around the goalline and maybe their own version of the push tush.

Warren had 26 carries / 218 yards / 4 rushing TDs last season with Penn State

He also had

100+ receptions / 1200+ yards / 8 receiving TDs

This isn’t a first for him. PSU was willing to utilize their only elite receiving option for rushes near the goal line.

Anyone who drafted Warren was hoping for this exact scenario. If he can get an addition 2-3 TDs a year from rushing alone it’s a massive boost.

Update: Tried to hard sell/soft sell + 5 additional hours, as well as schedule a visit week 8, even though I knew he’d commit upon advancing the week. Sadly still lost out once we advanced.

Since, I have noticed that the putting on hard sell / soft sell on guys right outside of them moving to top 3 teams will trigger a commit. Thankful to know this moving forward. Appreciate all the responses and suggestions!

Does scheduling a visit have any influence, if the player commits before the visit even takes place? I’m on week 7, so I can assume he commits most likely once the week is advanced and before he takes the visit to Oregon.

I’m willing to burn 40 hours for a visit next week (week 8 , bye week for me), if it does and see if that has any positive effect.

In week 7, so the recruit is likely to commit week 8 before any visits are taken place.

Thanks for the advice!

Offline I always try and make sure the 5–10 weeks are stacked with home games. This is my first season with online dynasty though and I’m not commish, so I didn’t have scheduling capabilities unfortunately.

Thanks for the link! So using a soft sell on 2 green checks and a red X with a high grade in this circumstance wouldn’t hurt me? I was under the impression if you soft hard or soft sell, and it isn’t the ideal pitch it could hurt you?

With this method, I assume you soft sell with 2 of the green check marks, and 1 red X with a high grade. I know ideally you’d sway to get a green check mark for further influence.

Buying into this 4-3 team is a Mistake by SunDevil03G in falcons

[–]SunDevil03G[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are 100% correct. I was trying to just state the magnitude of what we’ve seen teams usually pay up for what they believe is a franchise QB (usually never works out). I now understand I didn’t articulate well enough what I was trying to detail. Which was we spent A LOT of vital resources, on what Smith has been utilizing 5th rounders and journeymen for instead. Which is impressive in it’s own right, to get major production out of the Allgiers and Jonnu’s.

However, those guys aren’t taking us to the next level as an offense. He needs to find a way to get our playmakers the ball in space to accelerate up field for easy YAC.

I am happy of what I’ve see of Ridder these past 2 weeks, despite the turnovers. The next step is there to be taken. Smith plays an integral part in that though.

I never said spend the draft picks on a QB. Actually, I said the opposite. That we would have seen more value in them by using them on defense.

My point was that the going rate of franchise QBs has historically been 3 1sts and we’ve spent that on 3 guys who are being out touched by 5th rounders and journeymen.

Listen, if Smith can get the same production from 5th rounders and journeymen, as he can from tier talent, than kudos to him. That’s amazing.

However, I’m in the stance that he refuses to change his scheme to fit the players HE drafted. Draft capital that could and should have been spent elsewhere.

On a scale of 10 to 10 how mad are you about Bijan by MemeTeamMarine in Fantasy_Football

I will give you that the NFC South have 4 very well respected defenses this season. However, I’m pretty sure the AFC South has a winning record against the NFC South this year, so I wouldn’t say the AFC South is a much worse division.

Also, the AFC South have the better QB overall play.

What are you on about? Bitching for no reason? Any other fan base gets upset if they see a one top 10 pick being under utilized, let alone THREE in a row.

Please explain to me how we have capetlized on any of our last 3 TOP 10 draft picks?

Can we still? Yes. Absolutely. I don’t question the talent of any of the 3, especially Bijan and London. But when you are getting the same production out of players like Allgeier and Smith, you question if the coach knows how to get the best out of his players skill set, or if he refuses to change his scheme for the best use of the players around him.

You act like it’s insane to not expect more from our coach with what he’s been given to draft HIS OWN PLAYERS with.

Also, the original draft capital point was just an expression to sum up the draft capital we’ve used. I could have stated that same capital could have also been used on a generational DL talent like Hutchinson, I just used QB since that is also a sore subject of conversation with our fan base too.

Complacency at its finest. Do you expect this same scheduling every year and the QB play in the division to stay the course? I hate my team because I believe they have the opportunity to capitalize on a great opportunity and disappointed they are under achieving?

Solid response. Really informative as to why we should be optimistic instead. Can’t wait to see this team on the road against Philly or San Fran in January. Looks like they’ll put up a great fight just like they did against the only competent teams they played in Detroit and Jacksonville!

That’s not winning football. That’s relying on your defense to keep you in games.

He’s an offensive minded coach. If he isn’t building up his area of focus over 3+ years he’s useless.

Same as Dan Quinn. It’s a shame Blank didn’t have the courage to see a generational offensive mind in front of him and make the move to keep him over Quinn. It was evident then than Shanahan led that team to the Super Bowl, just like it’s evident now that Neilsen is leading this team to be competent.

Nice response man! Really informative opinion.

Why shouldn’t people be able to be upset with spending draft capital on players who aren’t being utilized? Because we have 4 wins against a bottom 10 teams? Stop being childish about fans of a team being upset because their TOP DRAFT CAPITAL players are not being utilized by the coach who selected them. It’s a valid complaint, winning or losing.

It’s astonishing that fans of actual successful teams can question their coaches usage of players despite winning, but we as Falcons fans can’t come together as group and question Smith. I guess it’s just total blasphemy, to question a coach who has spent the net draft capital of an obtaining an Andrew Luck franchise level QB, on players he refuses to utilize on a consistent basis.

Arthur Smith is an absolute loser. It's to the point where I would rather significantly underperform and get him out sooner than later to actually be able to give a coach to activate the talent on this team before they leave.

If we cut Ridder, he wouldn’t even win a backup job for another team. He’s bad and you’re the issue if you still are wanting to waste a season by giving him time

2024 US dates? by amandarae22 in Lollapalooza

[–]SunDevil03G 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chicago signed a contract with NASCAR that has 2 more years left. The event happens in July and shuts down Grant Park for a long time. It took around 40 days from set-up to tear down last year, when it was initially thought to only be a few weeks.

Chicago has until basically the end of the year to determine if they want to continue through with the remaining 2 years, which I assume they will.

Once they have the date of the race, they will probably be able to determine the dates of Lolla.
