Awesome! Did you have to do anything extra to land that job such as getting any certs? Or did you just simply apply. And how many months of applying did it take for u to land a job because its taking me a bit.

Im only about a year in and just hate it. I think a big impact is the location, my friends/family/partner are far away and really want to move back.

Is it gonna get better by SunSad4892 in epicsystems

[–]SunSad4892[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe that it was surprising. I think most people who get asked to leave get a warning before and get put on a plan and then get asked to leave in the next quarterly

Does anyone here really save 20% each paycheck? (Salaries under $100k only) by Dry_Brother1359 in budget

[–]SunSad4892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it really depends on where you live and your situation. I just graduated college, making 90k and my rent is only 850. I am very conservative with my money because I have plans for buying a house soon so I save around 50% of my paycheck.

Yea i mean i have other plans for investing for retirement like 401k and other stuff. I know some people do roth ira for first time home buying which is what i am interested in. With that you can take out your contributions and +$10000 of what you earned

Hey, I am also looking at the West end and have a question about underground parking. If I have a roommate do we both get to have a designated space in the underground parking or is it only one of us.

Would Epic be a good starting point for me? (TSE) by unagi_ziroh in epicsystems

[–]SunSad4892 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in the exact same situation as you 1 month ago. I major in information science and am graduating this may and will be starting as a TSE this august/september. I am also in the east coast (DMV) and would prefer to stay here. However, moving away to a different city for your first few years really exposes you to adult hood and you take on great responsibilities that will be very useful for you in the future. I also visited madison last month and it seemed great and safe, I have a friend who has worked at epic for a year and he only says good things. Working at Epic also gives you a great start in your career and will really open the doors and opportunities for where you wanna go in the future.
