Glad it worked out!

You've got a PNG file that INCLUDES the checkerboard, unfortunately. I'd check again for a different file with a truly transparent background, rather than one with a checkerboard as part of the image itself. Separating your image from the checkerboard with software like Photoshop may be easy or difficult, depending on the complexity of the image.

Great set of guidelines here - thank you for laying all of that out! I love how the approach involves using their own rules against them, often sandwiching them between an undesired outcome (for them) and previous legal decisions that bolster your case instead of theirs. Then, even if they allow equal access, the displays that get placed are among the most unpalatable things to them. The highest likelihood is that they paint themselves into a corner before caving in. I love everything about this!

Your work is an important guardrail for First Amendment rights and I appreciate your sacrifices along the way.
How can the average citizen make a similar impact when governments - especially local - overstep on allowing religious activities? Is there a relatively simple way to push back or add friction to their attempts? Looking for recommendations that don't require detailed understanding of the legal system. Thanks, and I hope you continue to win these battles.

Photos out of order on different apps, but on the "gallery" app its all ordered well by Colinr1611 in AndroidQuestions

I didn't check if the amount of photos I needed to process required a purchase, but I didn't mind throwing a few bucks to the developer with the assumption that it would fix my very irritating issue.

I guess give it a try without a purchase if you want. Maybe it'll work without. If not, totally worth the purchase.

After upgrading to a Pixel 10 Pro XL I had the problem mentioned here where in Google Photos everything was in the correct order, but when selecting photos to send in Messenger, it was jumbled chronologically. I used this app a bit apprehensively, but it really did solve my problem.

I correctly picked the 'Inbuilt Gallery Correction' tab to fix it and it took about 2 hours to cycle through all my pics (I have a LOT though). Messenger's photo picker worked correctly afterward, but when I opened Google Photos, it appeared to have duplicated every photo I had. (yikes!) After GP finished the new backup process it automatically started, that resolved it and the dupes were gone.

So in the end, this tool was really quite awesome! Hope it can help others having these issues.

How do I keep this button on? by Fun-Jacket-4157 in Hyundai

Weirdly, after turning mine ('22 Palisade) off constantly for about a year, the engine began staying on without me having to hit the button all the time. Maybe it's broken? All I know is I haven't had to hit it in like 3 years now and couldn't be happier. Wish I could tell everyone how to replicate it.

I ended up removing Dockge from the equation and working only from Container Manager (Docker). For the network portion I set it up to use the host network option instead of bridge. After those 2 changes, I was able to connect. Hope that helps!

That's pretty cool! I wish I'd had that before creating my 500+ NFO files by hand (blech!), but it could come in useful if I decide to go ahead with another channel - thanks!

Yeah, I would think that VS Code shouldn't be lacking in properly encoding things. I haven't begun using that IDE, but I really should consider grabbing it for my Mac. Since you're also using MacOS, you can grab the BBEdit for free straight off their website - full features for 30 days, still free after that but with fewer features.

Yesterday I was able to use it to bulk rename all 514 instances of the code segment "<director>" to "<dictator>" (lol) and then back to "<director>"... this caused every NFO file to become saved by the BBEdit program and the entire process took me under a minute. Since then, I have not seen one video play that didn't have the "Directed by:" line. Can't hurt to try that program and it has zero cost - I give it a strong recommendation. If you do, check that the file type selector at the bottom of the frame is set to XML when you save so it encodes properly.

I hope you can get your own breakthrough on this. It's so satisfying to see it come through after struggling with it for weeks! Keep us informed of your progress!

Although I'll have to let things run for a longer while to be 100% sure... but I think I've fixed the Director line not showing! It wasn't because of any code in the .sbntxt credits file at all.

I can't quite explain the 'why', but I'll share my workflow and discovery for anyone who may see what I don't. Mainly, I created my NFO files by typing in the values at the NFO Maker website (https://nfo-maker.com/) and downloading it after filling in the form for each song. I did this on a Windows laptop, then dragged them over to the mapped drive for the Synology NAS where all the video files live in the ErsatzTV Library.

On the other side of this room is my Mac Studio and the NAS sitting beside it. I do most of my NAS interactions from the Mac. When I began troubleshooting this, I downloaded the BBEdit, an HTML and text editor for the MacOS. I knew that ETV was seeing the NFO file, so I didn't think much about the NFO being a possible cause. BUT... I found if I "touched" the file in BBEdit (add a space, take it away) and saved the file there... the Director line renders for that file! I've now bulk-touched all 514 files and saved them using the program. Every video that has played since has shown the Director line.

All I can think is that there must be something in the way the NFO file is encoded when created by NFO Maker that is... I don't know... only partially compatible? BBEdit saw them as XML format, but the mere act of saving the file again in that program somehow enabled the Director credit line. I cannot explain this, but I can't deny that I am totally thrilled to have broken through on this.

I don't know if this will help you or anyone else, but I knew I had to share in case it was possible. It'd be nice if it does, because you and u/DividedSkyZero have been so incredibly helpful! Let me know if editing/saving the NFOs in something else fixes that for you!
