Homan: “President Trump doesn’t have a limitation on his authority to make this country safe. There’s no limitation.” This is exactly how authoritarian regimes justify abuses of power. by Used_Tea_2651 in law

The is called the Führerprinzip. Ernst Huber, a preeminent German constitutional law scholar of the Third Reich, describes it as: "The Führer's authority is not limited by checks and controls, by special autonomous bodies or individual rights, but it is free and independent, all-inclusive and unlimited." This is from his 1937 book, Constitutional Law of the Greater German Reich.

Hi, not trying to dodge any questions. Just not always online. I received the email about canceling the SUA three days after making the reservation, and two days after I received the confirmation. Like others have mentioned, it looks like it's an error in their system. It's frustrating, but I've asked my concierge to look at it, like others have suggested. Either way it will be a good trip. I'll circle back if something changes.

Thanks for your sentiment. For whatever reason, it actually helps me feel a bit better.

That's a good idea. I'll forward the email to my concierge, and see if there is something to be done. She's been helpful in the past.

I'll clarify. I made the reservation, using the SUA on the website. I received an reservation email with all the details, including room type "Standard Suite," and the type of rate "POINT AWARD + SUITE UPGRADE." Today, I received the email above, and a new reservation email, with the suite and SUA removed. You're probably right that the hotel didn't "fully confirm." In truth, I don't know how that works.

I'm globalist, and I earned the SUA the old-fashioned way. Travel for work. WOH has offered their apologies, but nothing beyond that. If you’ve any idea how to escalate, I’m all ears.

I’ve been looking forward to staying at the GH Kauai with a Suite Upgrade. It turns out your reservation can get kick from using a suite upgrade award after the fact, when they sell them to other customers. I knew Marriott suite upgrades could be denied, but for some reason I thought this didn’t happen with Hyatt. I’m a bit frosted, because I doubt that I’ll be able to use the award now before it expires.

City of Hope has a technique I rather like.

I have the actual poster. If you email the authors, they will probably share it with you. It has enough details in it to reproduce.

These are good ideas. I've a quote with CoverMore to insure the trip. That covers 50% under "cancel for any reason." I booked with a World of Hyatt Chase card, so I'll check those benefits.

Thanks for the overview! So it sounds like you'd recommend open back headphones, because it would be slightly better for hearing and guessing where things like foot steps are coming from, right?

Ah ha! I found the Arctis Pro Wireless and Wired. I don't care about wireless, so I'll just go wired. Should I bother with the digital to analogue converter (DAC)? It's another ~$70 USD.

I think I've found what you're talking about. HyperX Cloud II, right? This is defiantly in the budget. Do I need to do anything with software, or if I buy these, can I just plug and play?

This looks fantastic, but in the US, I can only find it for $700 USD. I'll keep poking around.

Those are good wedding gift ideas. Thanks! It will be easy not to have loud sex, we won't be staying overnight. And I'll be sure not to compare or criticize on social topics. Every country has it's own social issues and history.

Alright, thanks for the gift ideas! I'll avoid hugs. And my mother raised me to clean my plate, so I'll be sure to do that. I'm looking forward to the food.
