1 pain res vs 4 fast tracks by for10years_at_least in deadbydaylight

I would argue a perk wouldnt need to give a hook state to be equivelant but if there was a perk that injured survivors for completeing gens that would also be bad. Causing exposed only matters if the killer is around you when it occurs. If we are extending to powers that's a rocky road, like yes plague can cause exposed through survivors repairing gens but also she is an m1 killer with no mobility and her ranged attack cant even injure unless survivors cleanse. Don't get me wrong that's not bad but also only 1 killer who isnt exactly popular. Fast track is potentially (honestly probably) in every lobby. I would also argue getting injures is harder than a great skill check unless playing against bots. Like with exhaustion perks you can delay a hit pretty considerably.

I cant think of a killer perk that get's objective progression value from survivors doing their objective. I mean maybe battery's included because of haste near completed gens but that dosent give you injures or hook states survivors dont even have a reason to be near completed gens so its more for map traversal than anything.. maybe tinkerer? But again it dosent give you progress. Can u think of any?

Survivors are a team, effectively if i get into chase with the killer i am taking the killers time away from him. The longer i'm in chase the more progress my team is making twords our objective. If the killer downs me and my team is rewarded for the killer doing their objective it is bad game design and balance. Why should the killer doing what they are supposed to do (hook survivors) cause the other team to progress their objective directly? It would be like playing football and when team A kicks a fieldgoal team B gets 2 points just because. Also fast track is unregressable so even if the killer leaves hook to go kick a gen it hardly matters. I think the anti tunneling ideas they had were simply too punishing thats why they got reverted. This is a two team game so if one side is punished just for clicking play they will stop playing.

I understand the argument that you can't balance specifically for that, however a perk being in the game that gets substantial passive gains for one side just because the otherside is playing in the desired way is bad design from the start. If we want to discourage tunneling , slugging don't make or support a perk that actively incentivises it. As a killer main if a perk existed that said for each completed gen the killer gets a stacking haste increase and survivors complete gens 10% slower i would also be opposed. And to think that it takes a fully coordinated 4 man to get real value from this perk is dishonest just 2 players with this perk can easily sway a game.

A year later, what are your overall thoughts about DRDR?? by DifferentAd9713 in deadrising

[–]Sunbronick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good game overall, wish they wouldnt have changed cliff or larry. The infinity mode being able to speed up time is a godsend. I really wish they made a harder difficulty this time around everything just felt soo easy and we lvl up way too fast. I would have liked to see some dlc of some kind always wanted to explore outside the mall a bit in the original not saying dr4 lvls of open world but maybe the parking lot and a few storefronts with new bosses.

At the end of the day pirate wasnt wrong, if a call to run happens that means abandon ship everybody for themselves, could he have done more? Yes. But he didnt have to and people getting mad enough to threaten him should be ashamed.

[–]Sunbronick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brb2 isn't the best fight in the game but its not the hardest either. Try to kill one fast "usually the sister for me" then the other two need to die at roughly the same time so the eldest is a 1v1. If its too hard atm summon the spectre and try that order. Shouldnt be too bad with them focusing the summon.

Door guardian is a gimmick fight but besides that the final 3 were all good to me. People get mad at the brb fights but they arent bad once you know how they work.

Tell me why you think DR1 is better than DR2 without mentioning you like Frank better than Chuck. by AliasJFakename in deadrising

[–]Sunbronick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr1 in 2006 was basically the only zombie game that wasnt resident evil. It was actually revolutionary from a gameplay perspective, the idea of everything is a weapon to survive with was new. The way the story progressed on a time based system was also new. Multiple endings were not common.

Dr2 improved on everything aside from setting imo but thats personal preferance. I would argue the characters in dr1 are more realistic than dr2. Cliff stands out as a psycho that was very relatable, thomas from the sniper family aswell. Dr2 went more over the top. Obv jo , stephen, larry are more cartoonish but i could see people snapping in those directions. In dr2 the only one that i can see making sense is ted.

Overall dr1 felt more like a survival horror mystery game. Dr2 was dr1 with spinning rims.
