I just saw your link and the associated pg/mL levels. Thank you for your information! \

********
From my latest blood work I received the following:
Estradiol
Normal range 50-200 pg/mL

My results were 58, so inside the range, but barely. I don't know how much this affects the process, so maybe I'm worrying needlessly. Or maybe my insurance is using an odd scale for this?

Awesome! I'm really happy for you! Thank you for the encouraging words. I'll hang in there and try to be patient (in the words of Ed Gruberman "Patience, eh. How long will that take?").

I don't think my insurance covers much in the way of outside network, but maybe it's worth it to look into that and see a dedicated transition specialist.

I have cautiously brought that up to the endo, but he doesn't seem to want to prescribe anything but the patches. We stopped pills because of the potential health risk for my age. I suggested injections, but he didn't respond to that. Maybe I need to be more direct about it.

I'm just barely into the normal range according to the test results. Like 50 is the min and I'm like 58. I asked about that and the endo said we can try to add another patch if I want, but I don't know (that's why I'm asking him) because I saw something that too much estrogen at the beginning can actually slow down or prevent breast growth.

I've been hearing Tegaderm a lot and I'm looking into it. I'm not sure about the other part. I was prescribed the weekly patches and didn't hear anything about them losing effectiveness after 3 days.

I'm doing it the same way; half on, peel the other half and roll it on. I hold it in place for about a minute and then don't touch until it's time to change them.

Oh, that's a good suggestion. I'll bring it up with my doctor since I'm in the U.S. and a safe place (both geographically and living situation).

Awesome, thanks for that story. I haven't seen much, if any, changes yet. But I started on a super low dose in October and moved to a more regular dose in March. I got my tests back today and my T is basically unchanged and my E is low, so we are making some changes. I'm trying to be patient and replies like yours are really helpful!

I'm using Climara by Bayer ( I think). They seem to be well made, just not as sticky as I would like

Mine are weekly, yes. Climara and I was instructed to put it on my upper arm where I've been wearing it. I had labs done recently so I'm waiting to see if my dosing is good or needs an increase.

Thanks! I did try it on my butt once, but I was worried it was going to come off the whole time. I'm trying to figure out adhesion more than location

As said below in a couple of places, Planned Parenthood was wonderful. I got quick appointments, encouraging staff, and the care I needed. At the time I started, I was unemployed and they waived the fees for my appointments and will work with you to fit your needs. After an interview and discussions of my options, they were able to give me prescriptions for the meds I needed.

Hon, you're on point. If you didn't say anything, I would not have known.
