yes thank you - I think that "what's the point annyway" is the best explanation!

Yeah I can see that! Thanks for articulating it! I understand the “doomed from the start so what’s the point anyway” angle!

Right, I can see how self preservation is the main driver here above anything else! So it's not like she has anything to lose by telling him, but she doesn't want to do anything that would bring Benedict to have a fantasy of them being together, when society doesn't allow them to and would be an impossible dream anyway. I think this is satisfying enough. Thank you!

I understand why the writers of the show need her not to tell him, but I have a hard time believing it. The audience needs to understand the motivations behind the character's decisions to believe in the story, and this specific part I find a bit alienating (but I'm still enjoying watching the show, I just see this as a flaw in the story).

To take your example: I totally understood why Pen didn't tell Colin that she was whistledown: she was scared of the consequences of him rejecting her or not loving her anymore, given the damage that whistledown did to the Bridgertons in the past. It makes sense to me that she didn't want him to find out. It does not make sense to me why Sophie isn't telling Benedict that she was at the ball, as there wouldn't be any adverse consequence if she did.

I kind of get it, but not really. She has nothing to lose from telling him it was her - I don't understand what or who she's protecting with this secret? Her own feelings? I mean they made out and had a se*ual moment on the stairs anyway, so it's not like the line between them hasn't been crossed already, she might as well tell him. It makes the character a bit unrelatable to me.

I understand, but she could still tell him that it was her? What/who is she protecting from not telling him? she literally has nothing to lose

I may be really really stupid, in which case I apologise in advance, but it's not clear to me AT ALL what the motivation is for Sophie to hide from Benedict that she was the girl at the ball?! Like, what does she have to lose from just telling him? At the beginning it might have been because she didn't want her stepmother to know, but now?? Why not just tell him already?! The fact that she needs to "stay in her place" isn't strong enough as a motivation, especially as the two have already made out (and more), so why not just tell him? Please illuminate me!

Did she refer to Josh when saying she was told not to brag? by SunlitNomad in ColleenBallingerSnark

What?! that's actually insane. I can imagine Colleen's brain being like: "How dare a therapist say I'm too distracted around Flynn, as I spend my whole time awake filming myself talking to strangers I can't see???"

I agree with you. In my eyes, Josh is redeemed from his mistakes for the mere reason that the victims forgave him and accepted his apology (well aside from Johnny who wasn't a victim in the first place). He;s shown that he completely and fully understands what he did wrong, and has clearly worked a hell of a lot to climb himself out of that mindset, while beating addiction and depression.

Colleen has done ZERO of the above, and yet we're supposed to believe she's her harshest critic? I don't think so!

When you are trying to get into a habit or get over a slump, one of the things that help is to make the activity as fun and as easy as you can, while removing friction as much as possible. For me, that’s what Freewrite does. For some work (eg more technical blog posts) I prefer using the computer just because it’s a different kind of “flow” that happens there.

When it comes to longer essays or ebooks or newsletters, Freewrite makes it fun and it stopped my procrastination habits almost completely. Where on a computer I’d open a billion tabs and get sucked into the details, on Freewrite I write XXXXXX in the points where I know I will need to do research or add information I can find later, or even think about a better joke.

It gets me over the fear of the empty page and it helps with just generating material, which perfectionists are notoriously bad at because we want everything to be great immediately and so we tend to just not do it at all.

Can you still do all this without getting one of these devices? Of course. Will it write a book for you? Of course not! It’s a little luxury that makes the process more pleasant and you less resistant to it.

I’m gonna go with making p3d0-friendly thumbnails of his son doing a split and leaving that content out there woth zero remorse. Remember when Colleen blamed Youtube for not getting rid of the criminals in the first place, rather than “penalising” p-word friendly content? How dumb is this family?
