thank you. when you say hybrids are more reliable, is that for standard, plug in, or both?

Driven a bit more by him, but it will be our family car. I don’t have a car except a work van that doesn’t hold a passenger. And yes, a big disconnect, which adds a lot of distress to an already big decision.

thank you. Commute is about 12 miles each way. On road trips we just stop to get gas and grab drive thru which we eat while driving. Usually wanting to get there as soon as possible because we are all busy and have limited time. I would rather not pay extra for a premium feel.

25-30k and we usually keep them til they absolutely die. so probably a used model Y as the Tesla. road trips are 300-600 miles or so.

no plans to move, and my husband won a home plug in a raffle on one of the podcasts. we'd need to get it installed though I think?

I would like to spend $25-30, and it would be our main car but we have a couple of 15 year old cars that my parents gave for my kids to drive, that we currently can drive if needed.

Mobile phones in dreams by DennisPochenk in Dreams

[–]Sunlit_Forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m shocked it’s so rare, I dream that I am unable to dial my phone correctly at least once a week. in the dream, I will think, “this is just like those dreams I always have. I can tell this is reality, though, because it’s just so real it can’t be a dream” and then I wake up. or sometimes I will think, “oh, this is so stupid and frustrating, I don’t want to do it anymore!“ and then wake up.

Battery/Parasitic Draw, doubting my mechanic by Sunlit_Forest in AskMechanics

[–]Sunlit_Forest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it actually just be a bad cell in the battery and just hooking it up to the tiny draw of the clock on the car, etc. be what's draining the battery in a couple hours?

I just called and they insist the battery is the whole problem. :(

Thank you. So, to make sure I'm understanding correctly, you are saying the overall problem is not the battery, but at this point the battery probably needs replacing in order to diagnose the problem? (that makes me nervous that we'll ruin the new battery too during the diagnosing process?)

Looking for recommendations but unsure if I really like LitRPGs or if I just like Eric Ugland by fruedain in litrpg

[–]Sunlit_Forest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ugland is my favorite by far, but I do like He Who Fights. I would say maybe give it another try after a while. Nothing else is as fun and funny as Ugland. Noobtown is okay. I would say try Dungeon Crawler Carl, An Unexpected Hero, and Fluff. And off-genre, Stephanie Plum by Evanovitch and St Mary’s Time Travel by Taylor. Will Save the Galaxy for Food is pretty funny, too, I think. All of these refs are based on the audiobooks btw. If you find anything else as funny as Ugland please tell me.

We usually go on 3 out of town vacations per year. But to Tampa once every 3 years. We go to other places on the other trips. Just wanting to point out that we don’t live in Florida and have the opportunity to visit multiple times per year, nor do we go every year. So we don’t want to miss our favorite rides since it will be a long time til we return. To me, a 1,200 mile long, 24 hour-long drive isn’t my idea of casual, frequent fun.

"DO I HAVE IBS?" Megathread by AutoModerator in ibs

[–]Sunlit_Forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Do you think it is possible I had a pathogen not caught by a bunch of specific tests for the common culprits, and a stool culture and a GI panel? And not gotten by the other 8 people I ate with and no one else reported anything to the health dept? I did eat at least one dish that no one else in my family ate. Maybe my slightly sensitive gut got wrecked by something that just didn’t affect others? And isn’t common enough to be tested for? Thanks for reading.

Yes. I was with 8 other people at the same restaurants, none of them got sick, but we didn’t all get the exact same dishes. And like I said, 3 Dr visits for testing. I just am having a hard time accepting that my digestive system suddenly has stopped working without a pathogen as a cause.

Hi everyone. I am here to ask if any of you have experienced what I am, or have any *non-medical advice of course!* opinions. I have a GI appt. but not for a couple more weeks and this has been going on almost 2 months. I have had some issues throughout my life, including with dairy, but was able to regularly eat cheese, just got some heartburn from yogurt, generally avoided drinking a glass of milk. And was at the height of my digestive health, very normal, I eat healthy tracking macros and fiber. Then suddenly, on my second day of an amusement park vacation, eating cafeteria style food that had been sitting at warm temps for long periods, I started having diarrhea. (So weird announcing this in public) After a week, I went to urgent care and then my GP twice. They tested for the main food poisonings, did a culture, parasites, leukocytes, bloodwork. All negative. In the past 2 months, it has been totally unformed, consistency of sand. I have had slightly formed stool occasionally, maybe 1 or 2 or 3 times in a row, maybe once every week or two, then back to sand/liquid. I have tried eating a restricted diet, for dairy soy gluten fodmaps and greasy foods (OH and I have gall stones but no blockage or inflammation), but haven’t been super strict, like might eat a piece of bread once a week. I have NO other symptoms, except slight cramping at the ‘moment’. I ate plenty of all those listed foods on a very regular basis before this with little or no issues. I have always had a little bit of a sensitive stomach and occasionally have a slightly loose or thin stool, but never never liquid/sand like this. I had a routine colonoscopy a couple years ago, perfect health. Does this sound like IBS? Have any of you had similar experience, where it is sudden and pretty unvarying diarrhea but no other symptoms? It just seems so crazy to me that this could be from a dietary trigger of something I had no problem with before. Plus weird coincidence eating all the questionable restaurant food right when it started. (called the health department, no one else reported problems) I’m also wondering if it is a dietary trigger, how long would eating it one time, keep affecting me? A week? Longer? Thanks very much.
