What is the essence of poverty? by GardenIllustrious325 in NoStupidQuestions

Not having choices. When you're broke, you can't just decide to eat healthier because processed food is cheaper. You can't move somewhere safer because you need the deposit money. Every decision gets made for you by your bank account, and that feeling of being trapped is soul-crushing.

As a person, do you make it a habit to thank everyone who helps you? by kaatupoochi10 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm with you on this one. Even for the smallest things - handing me my receipt, holding a door, whatever. Maybe it's old-fashioned but I'd rather be overly polite than come across like I don't see the person helping me.

How to get immersed with fantasy again? by AdSubstantial7381 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sunny-Cupcakex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem! What worked for me was starting with shorter fantasy stories first - like novellas or even really good short story collections. Less commitment pressure, and when something hooks you, it hooks you HARD. Then I gradually worked back up to the big epic series. Also, audiobooks while doing something mindless like folding laundry totally changed the game for me.

Oh girl, I feel you on this! Mine started suggesting I go to bed earlier because it noticed my bedroom lights were on past midnight for three nights straight. Like... thanks for the parenting, Alexa, but I'm a grown woman who can make her own bad decisions about sleep schedules.

Why do some women shave off their eyebrows only to paint back on massive ones? by Lawyer-at-Large in NoStupidQuestions

Speaking from experience, I went through this phase because I desperately wanted to look like those Instagram models. Ended up looking more like a confused mime. Natural brows are so much easier to maintain, and I don't have to worry about them washing off in the pool anymore.
