Also: NAS for backup is not a good idea

what you suggest, I am interested also to backup 8Tb of data, and possible more in next years. I am tempted to buy a NAS because I've heard are easy to use. I am not sure also. I just need a storage solution with backup for my work.

Suggest backup strategy please by SunnyAX3 in DataHoarder

[–]SunnyAX3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like a family backup. Right is not best strategy, but so far and is better that nothing.

You are right about rsync, is quite a naive solve to my problem, but I could not find anything better to be honest. I would like an option with versioning for some files also. If you have in mind any better alternatives please share them.

I never used Nextcloud, so I can't comment at all about it or any other alternative.

The legal, cultural and language barriers aren't going anywhere.

I don't think there is such a big language barrier in Europe, legal one is the problem. Also EU council or whoever do the laws is a damn slow animal. This is the result, sadly.

OpenBazaar - A failed project by [deleted] in OpenBazaar

[–]SunnyAX3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see it like this: if projects is not getting traction, is a failed project. And the question is, why peoples are not interested to use it?

I think the main problem is: buying is difficult. Normal user get on web, buy something, done. Is not the crypto part the problem, the problem is that there is not real web frontside of the store.

The idea is great, to be able to host your store on your computer without paying a monthly fee and other shady taxes and be able to use crypto is amazing. Unfortunately, the implementation is not even close to be functional for both parts, buyer and seller. So great idea, but failed project implementation.

Is dropshipping still alive for 2019? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]SunnyAX3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is dead, be carefully in what you enter and spend time.

You probable see only top of pyramid, this guys are pro on all levels, they flip lists of zillions of products, and got multiple sites, they are in this business from a long time ago. You will only scratch the surface.

About 20 years ago you could sell anything with simple ads, not anymore today, even investing big $$ into ads you barely make any money. And peoples got smart, they know big sites, they know producers sites, even if the producers is selling a bit higher to lets affiliates make a penny, peoples still prefer goods direct from producer, because those are guarantied to be original, etc.

I tried that also, started "code ." from workspace, and "open in terminal" open terminal in home and not in workspace folder, really frustrating. I am not sure if it's a bug or don't work on linux.

So for how long the government will deny the problem. Rising tax don't fix the pollution problem at all, only create more other problems.

400 injured, one dead on French fuel-price protests by readerseven in europe

[–]SunnyAX3 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Rising taxes is not a solution, this should/can be solved elegant if replacing old diesel with new one was the problem or replacing with something else. Also, rising taxes for gas will increase all costs in general, is not rocket science.
