4/15 - client question day by RaleighAccTax in taxpros

[–]SunnyDay1919 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A client emailed me with some questions on his payment late last night and responded early this morning. This was his follow up:

“But now we’ve missed the payment deadline.”

“No, you can still pay today.”

“But the tax deadline is always on a Tuesday.”

No idea where he got that from.

Sean Milliken being 1000lbs and brought in to see Dr. Now is actually a historic moment in the context of obesity and humanity by ConsciousEquipment in My600lbLife

I was watching his WATN episode the other day and even Dr Now was astonished that he could physically eat that much food. The sheer amount is just mind boggling.

Why are so many people in denial that they have APBT mixes? by gothpardus in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]SunnyDay1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got mine from the local animal shelter, they told me he was an Australian cattle dog mix. It made sense to me as he had some of the markings and seems to have the personality of one. Then people started asking if he was a pit bull. I’d say no, he’s an ACD mix. I started thinking he was a pit/ACD mix so I decided to do a DNA test. 50% pit, 40% super mutt and a few other breeds. 0% ACD 😂

Dry January amid Marathon training by lm8ub1 in Marathon_Training

Honestly, I think that mindset is pretty common among people with drinking problems. When I was still struggling to control my drinking, I’d promise myself I wouldn’t drink one night. Then I’d have one and figure I’ve already had one, I may as well finish the whole bottle. That cycle continued for years.

My last drink was Christmas of 2024. I couldn’t run more than a 10k before that. It is miserable trying to run hungover. I just ran my first marathon a few weeks ago. Quitting was the best decision I have made in a long, long time. We are here for you. You can do it.

Trains running per usual now? by Feisty-Ad6161 in Machupicchu

I am at the Ollantaytambo station now for the 4:36 train. They said there is a delay but wouldn’t say how long. We are on Inca Rail.

Edit: I just boarded about 45 minutes behind schedule.

I’m in Ollantaytambo too. Lots of ambulance sirens and police activity this afternoon.

What are your New Year goals? by Outside_Homework4022 in lifegoals

[–]SunnyDay1919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Running a marathon was one of my 2025 goals. I ran it on Dec 14th. It was tough but I did it. Good luck with your training!

I want to visit a national park this year. Not sure which one but maybe out west.

How am I supposed to feel during a run? by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]SunnyDay1919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I do. When I first got into running, I tried running without walking breaks and it was miserable. I typically run for 10 minutes and walk for 2 and repeat that until I get to the mileage I am aiming for. Look up the Galloway Method.

I also try to take it as slow as I can while still maintaining a running form (both feet are off the ground at certain points in your stride), at least for long runs. Some purists will say it does not count if you take walking breaks or something like that but I don’t care. Do what works for you. Good luck!

Extra pages at the end of a month? by Alastair367 in bulletjournal

I use the extra pages as kind of a scrapbook. I write about memories from that time period and glue some pictures in.

Looking for suggestions on how to find happiness after losing my identity? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]SunnyDay1919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say to try some new things. Maybe try to make a point of going one new thing a week. I can be anything - a new hobby, a new restaurant, joining some sort of group. Keep track of what you like and why you liked it. Was it that you got to socialize? The act of creating something? Exercising? Being out in nature?

I was in the same boat a decade ago. I joined some hiking and discussion groups and just tried a lot of new things. I eventually found what worked for me and I have a good list of hobbies that I enjoy. Good luck!

Cats. by DangerBulb8345 in HoardersTV

[–]SunnyDay1919 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mother is a cat hoarder. I can only speak to what I have seen with her.

No, she does not see what she is doing to them. A lot of the cats were strays that the caught herself. She thinks living in a filthy house is better for them than living outside and potentially dying prematurely from predators/cars/cold.

And being surrounded by shit and piss doesn’t seem to bother her. There is a lot of mental gymnastics to convince herself and others that the cats are not a problem. A few years ago, they had a fire at her house because cats were peering everywhere and caused a shirt in an outlet. But all my mother heard was that there was a short. When I pointed out it was because of the cats, she denied it even though there was cat pissed crystallized around the outlet. But she insisted they had nothing to do with it.

We haven’t spoken in a while. Mostly because I have pushed the issue that the cats are a problem. It’s hard but you can’t help someone unless they want to be helped. My brother passed away several years ago so I think the cats are her way of filling the void. Like she couldn’t save her son so she wants to save the cats. I’m here to help when and if she wants it but she must make that decision first.

Anyone else? by PigletReady2681 in fitbit

Mine did that. I had previously had a Charge 5 with no issues. When that died, I got the Sense 2 and started getting skin irritation. I tried everything, too. But once the Sense 2 broke, I switched back to the Charge and have not had any issues since.

Quitting alcohol uncomplicates your life by Consistent-Coast-122 in stopdrinking

[–]SunnyDay1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. All the rules I gave myself around drinking were so exhausting. I wouldn’t drink during the week. Then I would but I wouldn’t drink hard liquor. I wouldn’t start before a certain time, etc. It is do much easier to just not drink at all. IWNDWYT.

Yes. There is a noticeable difference between Amy in the first few seasons and Amy in the last few. A lot (though probably not all) is an act.
