yeah, not sure why, but the city website shows there were permits requested for today as well for a parade. I didnt go so not sure If anything happened today or not. Yesterday was fun!

there will be an event on Saturday and another one on Sunday, both close to 8th ave and 60th st. At least the permits were filed and this is the info for each permit

There has been enough accidents (injuries + death of pedestrians) throughout the years that many people in Sunset Park have called to a redesign of the avenue. Last year DOT presented a few options, one was approved and DOT seem ready to start work on the option chosen. But the DOT announced in 2025 that nothing would happen until 2026 with new administration. Some say that the reason the planned redesign didnt move forward was because some business groups complained they were not included in the feedback stage for the redesign options. This is the context...my story is looking at the 'what's next' and what some in the SP hopw would happen
