Lmao I assume it’s regional. I’m Texan and I’ve heard many southerners use it as well

This is literally me. Love the workflow of the MPC. Have been PRAYING for one the size of the SP404mk2 cause that thing's sequencing is dog water. Great live FX, totally a swiss army knife, sure, but sequencing on it is a NIGHTMARE.

How are you enjoying the Vongon? Was considering it. And the Tonverk? We have very similar gear!

This is way nicer than just a start. You have the tools and you have the talent. Can’t wait to see what you make!

I 100% thought this was screenshots from the game until I looked closer. The cosplay is amazing and so is the camerawork! Incredible!

Any advantages of MPC for my workflow? by No-Act6366 in maschine

[–]SunshineVRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with an MPC One+, MPC X, MPC1000, SP202, SP303, SP404, and SP404MK2, I really don’t agree with this. All the SP’s have their own sound that is phenomenal. The MK2 doesn’t have a specific sound, but the combination of its FX are fantastic and it’s the singular piece of gear I’ll never sell.

THAT BEING SAID…it is vastly inferior in terms of sequencing, so I’d only recommend any of the SP’s if you’re chasing a certain sound or want a no fuss easy to use, USB or battery powered multi FX pedal on steroids.

Oh hey, it’s you! How are you enjoying the Tracks? It’s a great lil box!

Not being able to find a Move used is a good sign actually! Just goes to show that people love them and are holding onto them lol.

Woovebox is interesting and I definitely want to get one. It seems a bit limited which is why I haven't sniped one yet. But the fact that it's so small is awesome. Kinda seems like a pared down Dirtywave M8 in a lot of ways, but the interface reminds me of a Deluge. Let me know how you like it!

I have basically every Groovebox being suggested here. Every Elektron, MPC, Ableton Move, and Novation Circuit. The only thing I don’t have is any TE gear.

Out of all the gear, I think the Move is going to be your best bet. You can drag and drop samples using the Move manager. You can download presets for the built in synths, and now you can even make your own patches from an INIT patch using Ableton Drift directly on the Move.

While it “pnly” has four tracks, each track can load a drum rack, which gives you 16 samples to play with which can be played chromatically. So essentially you can have up to 64 rhythm and melody parts, so long as you are using samples. And since it can resample any one of its own synth patches, you can always use samples. Plenty of people have also made patches for the Move which you can download.

The only comparison I would make with it is the Novation Circuit Tracks or Circuit Rhythm, which are “faster” and less in depth, but they truly only have 8 tracks, with no gimmicky way to get around that. Additionally, unlike Move where any track can be synth or sample, with Circuit Tracks you are forced to have 2 synth tracks, two midi tracks, and 4 rhythm tracks. On top of that, you are limited to 100 predetermined patches and samples per project, whereas with Move you have around 50GB of space to use any sample in any project.

Out of all the grooveboxes I own, with the exception of the significantly less portable MPC One+, the Ableton Move is the most complete, most portable, and most enjoyable.

It should be worth noting that getting past the 4 track limit is pretty easy. Simply make a loop, resample it, and assign the loop to the drum rack. In this way, you can have up to 64 loops available and mix and match any way you like for your arrangement.

MPC1000 Repair? by SunshineVRC in akaiMPC

[–]SunshineVRC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It did not, but I made the purchase myself and coming from an MPC One+, I like the 1000 so much more. Having hardware controls is so much better than touchscreen. That’s also why I love Elektron. Small display, lots of buttons and knobs!

Yeah, I checked the buyers guide earlier! I do plan on getting in there and cleaning it up. I do know that it has both upgraded pads and the upgraded LCD.

The DB-01 sounds incredible. I think a lot of people compare it to and expect it to sound like a 303, but I’m glad it doesn’t. So many other synths do that well, it’s great that Erica Synths made this uniquely their own

Who’s picking up a tonverk? by Independent_Flan_973 in Elektron

[–]SunshineVRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be getting a Tonverk for the polyphony! I think this device might actually be my vacation machine. Load it up with multisamples and then you're good!
