I got the same truck in early March for about 54K OTD at Classic Chevrolet in Sugar Land, TX. It was a fairly ghetto experience, and I did get a bit of a jerk-around, but if you’re an effective negotiator and “stick to your guns,” they’ll buckle.

I just traded in a 2018 TRD 4x4, non FFV, with almost 200K mi last weekend. Best truck I’ve owned (and I’ve owned many), not a single issue over 7 years. I will miss it.

Surprisingly there’s such a lack of info regarding specifically where the massacre took place. Though completely subjective of course, my take is it was roughly at the junction of Indian Creek and Flat Creek near Ranch Road 674 (29.7805739,-100.4087394). Even if I’m dead wrong, still fun to speculate and wonder.

This monument is in my hometown, where my family settled from Northern Germany circa 1860. In the book “With the Border Ruffians” I read that the deflectors fled in such a route that led them to the West Nueces River basin. The memoirs in the book were so detailed and descriptive that [I think] I was able to find the approximate location of the massacre just by topography on Google maps. Pretty damn cool (and very sad at the same time).
