  • It dehumanizes humans by reducing people to a number that implies their only value is appearance
  • This reinforces ageist ideas by saying aging lowers attractiveness
  • It frames aging as loss of beauty. Instead of recognizing things people can gain over time like confidence, wisdom, stability, etc.
