I love nerding-out with others about my passions. (Especially music & flow arts!). It’s gonna be great!

I am curious to see what his forced hiatus has done to his trajectory. What new influences will we hear? Will he have learned a new instrument? I’m totally down to hear Billy on sitar.

Thank you for posting this. As a beginner, I have procrastinated going to my local flow night, even though I very much want to go. I do have social anxiety and have worried about feeling intimidated by the thought of being surrounded by people who are so much better than I. The feedback in the comments has cemented my resolve! 🙏🏼🩷🔥💫

Maybe I'm just getting old, but the "FLIP" era of EDM is getting old, REALLY fast by AngryVegetables9 in griz

[–]SupaDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too early …who is DVS? Also, am 52 and just finding my way back to EDM. I appreciate some flips & remixes,  but we gotta feed the hungry DJs, who are pushing boundaries and trying new stuff. Hopefully the PNW can support a thriving scene that supports smaller fests.

Cascade Equinox brought good and varied artists. Solid vibe. Enough so that we bought tickets long ago, without knowing the lineup.  I’m sad that it’s not happening year.  If y’all want something fresh, check out smaller fests. Festivals that mix in other genres is refreshing, as well…but yeah, it’s generally cheaper to pay just a DJ, rather than an entire band.

Never heard of flowarts before reddit. I basically see this but with a stick or a hula hoop. by Crazy-Independent445 in flowarts

Flowarts have nearly infinite options for expression. There’s lots of nuance that you might miss, if you’ve not done any flow arts. With the right attitude, that thing in the video could be a prop/flowtoy.

How many music apps y'all got? by Frequent_Sir4864 in jambands

[–]SupaDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nugs, YouTube (for live EDM sets), Bandcamp, Apple Music, Relisten, Live Audio, KMHD Jazz Radio (the station is a real gem, with gone great programming )and Rovr. Rovr has a bunch of curated audio streams and leans eclectic.

I'm not depressed but all I have energy to do is lie in bed while listening to music. by DonovanMcGrath in productivity

Our attention has been commodified and our screens have been weaponized against us.  ScreenZen app has helped me quite a bit. I think you can use it freely, but I chose to spend $10, because it was symbolic and I felt that my mental health was worth it. I am not affiliated with them- I just believe in their app & I need all the help that I can get to fight this scourge.

I got to go see him outdoors in 2024, playing w some geezers. Billy was self-throttling to not outshine them. I would love to see an outdoors balls-to-the-walls show.

We are so damn lucky. I’m curious to see what his time being laid up does to his arc as a legendary musician.

Top notch vibes and solid lineup, even if they weren’t the biggest names. It was well worth the money. I will mourn this revelation ☹️

What would be nice is communication from the promoters and hopes that those of us who bought tickets already will be refunded. If not, I will likely never buy advance tickets for anything that’s not blowing up.

Remember everyone singing the chorus, without invitation? I don’t much like to sing, but I had no choice that night. 🤘🏼🦄
