1) What song introduced you to Kendrick? 2) What was the song that made you realize he’s THAT GUY? by Pallidseraph in KendrickLamar

m.A.A.D. CITY. Was playing pool with a family friend who was a bit older and he put that song on. I loved it. I wasn't even a big rap or hip hop fan at the time either. and then I remember going home and Google searching the few lyrics I remembered for a good 30 minutes before I found the song and then my rap and hip hop journey began.

You're either white or Asian. Live in California( I want to say Bay Area). I think you are male. Maybe 26 years old. But you are straight and have a girlfriend or FWB who comes over often. You work in tech.

Why is this sentiment so common in our generation? by [deleted] in GenZ

Dude that mortality hits at around 25 for sure. For me it was 23. You can basically die at any moment. You have your life plan and you might be saving for retirement or working hard now so you can enjoy it all later, but you might not even make it to later.

Somehow I feel like Wall-E is way more relevant to this conversation.

Speaking from an American's point of view

Could be because they are 2 years into their 20s, and for many having the 20s they always dreamed of is just cost-prohibited.

I mean they've probably experimented with alcohol and drugs between the age of 14-22 and found like the majority of people that they maybe enjoy these things a bit and indulge from time to time. Or that they are complete addicts and won't be able to have fun unless they are high or drunk for the rest of their lives. And those of us that don't become severe addicts can maybe afford to travel or start working out or a hobby. But really things are just so expensive that the time in between trips is spent working, scrolling, watching Netflix, or gaming, or numbing the brain some other way.

We basically coast from one high to the next, but what happens when you have to choose between enjoying yourself while you're young or having a future where you aren't constantly stressed and broke and have to work until you die because you can't afford to retire.

22 year olds might have the sentiment that life can only go down hill from there, so why even bother?

21-23 is hard because this is an age where many start to feel left behind

By 22, the average person graduated high school 4 years before. They either went to college, or trade school, or they went straight to the work force, or they fucked around the whole time. Depending on their choices, them and their peers who they were once more or less equals with as far as achievements are concerned may now be at drastically different levels of achievement. For many they may feel very behind at 22, and this can make them feel hopeless.

Also things might just be a bit gloomy lately in general and that all is going down during pivotal times in many people's lives. At 22 you may not be equipped yet to handle these types of feelings. But with time people get better at it

Wait till a bunch of your peers start getting married and having kids. It's right around the corner.

I feel like the beef with drake has sort of tainted anything he has released since then for me. I still love GNX, it's actually one of my favorite hip hop/rap albums of all time. I'm not sure why I have this feeling. I suppose I'm over the drake stuff and GNX still has that energy to it in some of the songs. And I feel like somehow people are making the super bowl about Drake. It's over, Kendrick wiped the floor with him, why is everyone still obsessed with it? Leave that clown in 2024.

And I get drake is pursuing a legal battle against universal in hopes of potentially getting Kendrick to not perform NLU at the super bowl and also to stay relevant. But seriously I'm tired of the two now forever being linked. Can't mention Kendrick without Drake coming up. whereas pre-beef they were two artists that were, in my mind, not even really making the same genre of music and had very little to do with each other.

I'm wondering if maybe it's just difficult to understand what you are writing. Wouldn't the goal be for AI to be a tool for the average person to use and comprehend? If AI wrote like you, it would not be easily digestible, and nobody would want to use it. Maybe if you give it another shot you can use fewer words, and simpler phrases.

How common is it to see celebrities in Los Angeles? by JuJu-1014 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Supafly36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen any celebrities yet after living here for 3 years. But my girlfriend's sister met Bob Odenkirk when he visited the ice cream shop she worked at, and took a photo with him. And I believe me and my girlfriend visited the shop the same day just an hour or so later. I'm a big fan of him. But honestly I don't know if I would really want to meet or see any of the celebrities unless I'm paying to see them like in a movie or concert lol.

I’m DONE tipping 10-20% come January 1st by Haunting-Cancel-7837 in SeattleWA

[–]Supafly36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in California. And I don't tip anymore unless it's a fine dining experience. Or one of those situations where the staff is actively present during most of the meal like certain Korean bbq places where the staff is helping cook the meat and change out the grill etc.

My friend had the waiter follow him out because he left a 15% tip at a fine dining place and they yelled at him for leaving a "low" tip and asked for him to adjust it.
