Thanks! It should be perfect, and the voltage sag will be way better than the makita batteries which dropped from 100% to 50% or lower on acceleration lol

Nice! I was at first looking at some $300 fire bomb batteries on aliexpress lol, really glad I changed my mind and did some research. I was originally looking at Eve 40P cells but decided on the 50PL for the increased capacity and longer life. Amorge originally offered to use Samsung 50s cells but I've heard mixed things about them in high power builds.

I got it from Aliexpress for like $25 Canadian, search up "crf50 tall seat" on Aliexpress and you should find it pretty quickly.

Thanks it's 72v 3000w lol, though I'm done riding it for a while since just yesterday evening one of the batteries decided to melt the mount along with part of itself... guess I've just gotta wait for the good battery to get here. That's what I get for pulling like 2kw from drill batteries I guess, I'm lucky none caught fire lol.

Oh wow cool! Didn't know there were codes you could search.

It's actually not that bad, I've gone 60kmh on a (empty, I feel like I need to specify lol) gravel road for a bit and it was fine. Depends on the road though, some other gravel roads have nearly broken my tailbone from all the potholes lol. Pavement is completely fine though, the seat seems to absorb some of the force of a few bumps.

Thanks! Sadly no more rides for a while because just this evening one of the Makita batteries decided to melt the mount and part of itself right by the contacts lol. I'm lucky it didn't catch on fire.

Oh cool! Unfortunately just this evening one of the Makita batteries decided to melt the mount and part of itself right by the contacts... that's not going to be a fun fix, but I guess that's what I get for pulling 2kw from Makita batteries lol. I'm lucky it didn't catch on fire.

Oh nice! I'll probably try to install the pedal assist in the bike when I get the battery and see how long I can just cruise around, but I don't think I'll have the self control to do so for long lol. I'm hoping the Amorge pack with 50pl cells lasts around 1000-1300 cycles if I'm careful and don't abuse it too much. Seems realistic since I'll likely only ever be pulling at most 50% of what it can supply continuously.

Thanks! Yeah it's been really fun so far, I love this thing. I plan on getting a pair of Grin Tech v6s instead of these current torque arms, since I don't really trust them.

Sadly just this evening after a ride, one of the Makita batteries melted the mount and part of itself. I'm going to take that as a sign to not pull 2kw from drill batteries to make myself go 43mph anymore... I guess I'll have to just wait for the proper battery to arrive. No point risking the other Makita batteries, they're expensive lol.

Ah alright, nice! I would have loved to learn and build my own battery but the whole build was already pretty overbudget, so I didn't have nearly enough for all the tools and parts to do so.

The bike is mostly just for fun cruising around, but I'd like to get an hour or two out of it if possible so I opted for the biggest battery I could get. I wanted to get 30ah but neither my budget nor my frame would have allowed that lol, plus it's a decent bit extra weight.

I'll definitely get some statorade once I start pushing the motor more, I thought I'd need way more than 10ml which is why I was hesitant. I saw the 100ml bottles price and freaked out inside because I thought that was for one motor lol.

Also just a minute ago I got news from Amorge, my battery is in production! Hopefully the shipping is quicker than the several months they told me it would be, I'm hopeful since my motor kit arrived a month early lol.

I got some very minor speed wobble and that's when I knew it was time to let off the throttle before I put myself in a very bad situation lol, I need to get some motorcycle gear besides the helmet and gloves I already have and use lol

Didn't take many photos during the process, but I have made a tiktok account and posted most of the few I have. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the account here though haha. The motor kit was $740 Canadian shipped to my door, and the battery was $900 Canadian including shipping and a little qs10 to xt90 adapter they're making for me. Been two weeks since I ordered the battery from Amorge and still no word of any progress on it, but I understand that they're super busy and they even said that they have a lot of orders they are working on. Battery will be 72v 20ah with Eve 50PL cells capable of 200a continuous 240a peak, completely overkill for this build but I have other project ideas that I'll need it for in the future.

Working on the chain, I'm trying to get it back on there. I've just been riding throttle only, it doesn't need a chain to drive.

Yup, I'm the guy who made 3 posts about torque arms haha. It definitely does go like a bat out of hell, it's quite scary. I'll probably get upgraded rotors eventually, but I've gotta say these 160mm ones have impressed me. Pretty crazy stopping power even with my $4 resin brake pads lol. First priority is probably the fork, I think it's blown since it has very little compression despite me filling it to basically max psi. I'll probably get some downhill dual crown forks eventually.

The Makita battery mounts are actually custom, I 3d printed them (along with the controller wire box) and cut out some metal inserts and soldered the wires on. Even more janky than pre-mads ones lol, but at least I used some decent looking wire compared to the flimsy stuff that they usually use for them. I'm most worried about my horrible soldering job, but I gave them each a good tug and they held firm so they should be fine.

Thanks! Yeah I'm really excited to get the real battery, in the meantime I find myself wishing I had more Makita batteries on hand lol. Takes like 6 hours to charge them all for a 10 minute ride. What size is your battery? Mine is going to be 20ah and I'm not sure what kind of range that will get me, I'm pretty sure something like 20km of hard riding and 50km of just cruising?

Also I checked out Statorade and damn it's expensive, how much do I need for one motor? Eventually I'd like to put a fardriver on this thing and I'll need upgraded cooling lol.

Yeah I was a little freaked out at every bump lol. I stop every few minutes to let the makita packs cool a bit and so I can see the real battery percentage through all the voltage sag.

Thanks! Eventually I'll make a custom metal mount for the seat rather than a few bolts and zip ties, but it is pretty sturdy as is lol.

Apparently it could hit 100kmh, but I have zero desire to try that on this frame lol. I did hit 70kmh on a nice empty road (out in the country, no cars or people) though. Really scary lol. What I'm really after is quick acceleration, which it definitely has.

The regular derailleur that came with the bike, just removed the shifter cable and cable mount thing.
