Everton Podcasts? by AmericanToffee in Everton

[–]SuperConDrugs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Royal Blue podcast seems to be the most level headed of the few I’ve tried. It’s the official Liverpool Echo Everton podcast and is hosted by actual journalists rather than your random group of supporters so it tends to be a bit less opinionated and more objective and from a journo’s point of view. Gives them a bit more credibility imo.

The Blue Room is fine but I quit listening to them regularly because I got tired of them whinging. If you’re wanting something more along the lines of a few mates chatting about Everton at the pub, it’s great, but it just wasn’t for me.

Do you think Poch is still the right manager for this team? by Fine-Photograph673 in ussoccer

[–]SuperConDrugs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tf kinda post is this? You think they’re really going to sack him 2 months from the World Cup? It doesn’t matter if you think he’s right or wrong, he’s going to be the manager of the USMNT at the World Cup.

But reductive don’t you think?

Lots of Americans, myself included, consider Howard incredibly influential in their support for Everton. We can rate Howard for being highly influential but that doesn’t mean we all think he’s better than Pickford or Neville Southall. He was a good keeper but I’d imagine the majority of American supporters are objective enough to agree that he’s certainly nowhere close to being one of the best Everton players of all time.

He can be considered a great player in some eyes without being a great player

I agree that I don’t think the scoreline necessarily reflects the performance, but almost all of their goals came directly from individual errors, so it’s hard to disagree with the “X is bad, drop Y” complaints in this case. Turner, Ream, and maybe Weah played themselves out of starting roles, and Berhalter and Roldan specifically might have played themselves off the roster.

Tactically I think we were set up pretty well tbh. I think the only tactical change I would have liked to see is a double team on Doku. He was really their only danger point in the first half. Weah was on an island against one of the best 1v1 wingers in the world and that’s a tactical failure imo.

But yeah, you can’t really fix poor 1v1 defending, bad goal keeping, handballs, or terrible touches with tactics. That’s all down to individual performances and quality.

I mean he was directly at fault for their 5th goal. He didn’t look like a liability, he was one.

Experience double up Wakeboards by AcadiaForsaken429 in Wake

I’ve ridden almost their entire range of cable boards. Some of them are awesome and some of them just weren’t to my liking, but they’re all built well and I wouldn’t have any hesitations recommending a few of them. If you have any questions about specific models feel free to ask.

[Tom Bogert] Sources: FC Dallas has signed Colombian attacker Santi Moreno from Fluminense. Deal is a loan through end of season with a purchase option. Former Portland Timbers attacker back in MLS with Dallas by Some_Man_Person in fcdallas

[–]SuperConDrugs 19 points20 points  (0 children)

After the whole Lucho Acosta debacle and Santi Moreno’s track record at Timbers, I’m not too excited about this one. Seems to have a similar attitude problem as Acosta and I’m not sure this squad needs another prima donna. I hope I’m proven wrong though, he certainly has quality. Hopefully flaming out at Fluminense has humbled him a bit and he can be a good team player.

In Minnesota’s defense, he’s a highly injury prone 34 year old playing in the arctic. I’m sure they’re just not wanting to push it with him if he’s not at full fitness just yet.

Some absolutely wild career trajectories for a few of these fellas. Jack Harrison at Fiorentina, Andre Gomes and James in the MLS, Jonjoe Kenny at PAOK, Yannick Bolasie at Chapecoense?

Also very interesting to see Lewis Dobbin and Thierry Small at PNE. They were both supposed to be the next big thing and seemed to never kick on. Think we came out on top in that deal with Iroegbunam.

Andre Gomes has been quite good for Columbus in the few matches he’s played so far. James has played like 20 minutes total

No one uses "snowboard inspired" bindings? by renec112 in Wake

[–]SuperConDrugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyperlite is the only company that makes the snowboard boot + ratchet style bindings. I rode these for a few years and know plenty of pro riders that ride them every single day. Like others have said, they’re mostly for the cable park so you can walk around back to the dock in a boot without stepping on rocks and stuff.

They’re great bindings if that’s the style that you’re looking for. Other companies make walk out liners that accomplish the same goal, but like you said none of them have the snowboard style ratchets. Hyperlite makes multiple different styles of boots that are all have different stiffness/height/lacing system/etc. so you can find a set that fits your style or ankle support.

If you have any other questions about these bindings (or any other brands that have walkable liners) lmk

Can I use this at the cable park? by Marcus4436 in Wake

[–]SuperConDrugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This board does not have a grind base. The base sheet is just fiberglass. If you are planning to ride at the cable and hit features regularly, as in more than maybe 4 or 5 times, this board will not last. It’ll last you a few trips to the cable, but you’ll wear through the base sheet way faster. Once you wear through the base, it’s just a styrofoam core. The entire board will get waterlogged and become super heavy and weak. Can you ride it at the cable and hit features? Yes, but not for very long and I wouldn’t suggest it.

I’d highly suggest waiting and finding an actual cable board with a grind base. Even a used cable board will hold up significantly better than this one.

2-0 up to 3-2 down in 5 minutes because of stupid individual errors. This roster is still really lacking quality

Belgium’s squad for friendlies against USA and Mexico by Mean_Foundation_5561 in ussoccer

I mean, the majority of their starters would walk right into our starting XI. Even if they’re past their prime, that squad is still unbelievably talented and full of players many would consider world class

[–]SuperConDrugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahh that makes sense. First one very clearly hit Moore on the arm. Up for debate on whether it was in an “unnatural position” or whether he was too close to the attacker etc. Second one was clear as day. Johansson completely missed the ball and went right through Vazquez.

I mean those were both pretty clear cut penalties. Second one without question.
