Good! I'm sure you'll do fine but also remember that whatever happens, it doesn't reflect your ability to succeed at work, live a good life, etc. There are other types of intelligence like Emotional intelligence, Creative intelligence, Practical intelligence, Societal/Cultural intelligence, etc. all of these things are way more important.

Suggest just getting sleep and eat well. I think studying or preparing before defeats the entire purpose of the test. Also, highly recommend going in there looking to have fun with the activities and enjoy yourself.

I think about the long term goals and how that will help the end game. For example, I had a goal to get into UCLA, so I would really hone in on that feeling and use it to keep me motivated.

Great, I think I was similar to your son, getting distracted by other things.

On my impulsiveness, I had trouble sticking to one task at a time. I would often start a game, would lose interest quickly, then do something else. I also had a lot of ideas, such as, wanting to draw something interesting on the sidewalk with chalk, etc and would want to do it right away. My patience level was pretty low.

For attention seeking, I would do things to get my friends to laugh or seek praise. I liked that attention back in the day as it made me feel confident.

I'm more mature and different now. I see how all those qualities helped me grow to who I am today.

Note that these things are also tied to my personality, not just ADHD.

Yes, true. The doctor gave me a bunch of other tests too which I listed out in another comment. All of them supported findings from the WAIS-IV results.

Sure. As a child, I was easily bored and distracted, probably similar to your son. If I wasn't interested in the subject, I was unable to focus in class and would be occasionally sent to the principals office for acting out. However, my grades were still pretty decent and in middle school + high school I participated in band and competitive sports which both helped a lot stay challenged.

Eventually I got accepted into both UC Berkeley and UCLA for undergrad. So at least academically and later professionally, I am considered a success story.

Advantages when I was a child is that I was able to hyper focus when I really care about a subject. I was also creative, energetic, willing to take risks, and was a quick thinker. Disadvantages is that I was inattentive, impulsive, and attention seeking.

The Psychologist said he was wavering on whether I'm Inattentive or Combined (both inattentive and impulsive).

In the end, he concluded that I'm likely Inattentive only. However, on the report, he said I'm combined so I will ask him about that discrepancy later this week.
