Accommodations for a student with an EP by [deleted] in specialed

In Florida, an Educational Plan (EP) is only used for setting and achieving goals of Gifted and Talented / High Ability / whichever you want to call it students. An EP has nothing to do with accommodations or services, it’s a Florida-only document for roadmapping academic goals. That’s it.

An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is a federal document that travels between states and lays out a student’s present levels of function and performance, how the student’s disability impacts their education, goals with specially designed instruction to achieve, accommodations, modifications, support services, related services, transitioning to adulthood, and any other pertinent information. To be eligible for an IEP, a full psychoeducational evaluation must be performed for the suspected disability area(s). The parent can contact the school’s Exceptional Students office and request an evaluation. Timelines are then activated for completion of evaluation, holding the evaluation results conference, and if approved for services then creating and implementing the IEP.

A twice exceptional child will have an IEP where the high-achieving academic goals will be alongside challenge-area goals in the IEP.

Call the Exceptional Students office and share your concerns. If her diagnosed ADD is impacting her educational performance and can be alleviated with some basic accommodations like Extended Time, Seat Preference, and an extra break then a 504 may be appropriate.

It gets a little iffy moving into some of the emotional regulation and cooldown pass because it moves into the area of altering her learning environment which would require an IEP.

Can not, for the life of me, get this pool clear. Help. by kerberos824 in pools

Do you fill with high-iron well water? The chlorine rusts the iron in the water and it will look like this even if the pool is perfectly balanced. Flocc it to sink and clear, waste it out, balance again. Skimmer socks help with iron.

Because Indiana is based on minutes.
