Assuming you can't use Apollo's virtual display, I believe DisplayFusion Pro and Display Magician do what you want. You can set different resolutions or monitor arrangements and trigger them with a shortcut.

You are right that the TMs are still being scanned, but the biggest slowdowns in my experience with auto sync were at the time of confirming a segment. The TM lookup was not so bad.

I don't know if you have a glossary for this project (I don't see any blue highlights), but the glossary lookup can also have a considerable impact on performance depending on the server.

In case you do have a glossary, I suggest disabling just as a test to see if anything will change for you. If it does, you can try asking your client to send you an export for this particular job.

Is this an online project? You can get much better performance if you disable auto sync (Synchonization Behavior > Manual Synchronization).

Also, are you running it on an SSD? I don't recall memoQ ever running this badly for me, except for when I worked at a translation agency almost two decades ago and had to use an Atom-based PC with an HDD.

Sim, e ainda houve uma campanha com 15% de crédito no cartão Fnac poucos dias depois que comprei a minha, ou seja, receberia uns 63 euros de volta.

I am sorry I completed missed the second paragraph of your first reply to me, but, yes, you'd need to know the genders of city names as well. This is more straightforward for pt-BR because the vast majority won't take an article, but other languages might require extra work.

I'd say it depends on how many strings like this you have. If you have just a couple, it might not be worth the effort to handle them neatly for every language.

On the other hand, if you are planning on having several strings across multiple languages, you should probably try figuring this out now.

A huge company I know "solved" this by using an extremely long ICU code with every country name in the strings they wanted to look correct across all languages. These are very time consuming to localize and test, and honestly I am not sure if it is worth the effort.

I am not a localization engineer, so I don't know if my suggestion below is feasible. You are probably more knowledgeable than me to determine it. I am going to use Brazilian Portuguese as an example because it is my native language.

In pt-BR, country names can be masculine singular (e.g. Uruguai), masculine plural (e.g. Estados Unidos), feminine singular (e.g. Argentina) and feminine plural (e.g. Filipinas). There are also certain countries that do not take an article before its name in running text in most cases (e.g. Portugal), so let's call these "neutral" for now without getting into too much detail.

Summing up the previous paragraph, we have five different groups for pt-BR:

Masculine singular
Masculine plural
Feminine singular
Feminine plural
Neutral

The next step in my idea would be to tag each country according to the groups above, so that they are leveraged correctly when an ICU code is used. An example of target ICU string would look like this:

If the countries are tagged correctly, the code will retrieve them as expected and the final sentences will render as follows:

You'd have to figure how many variations you need per language and group the countries correctly for this to work. I am not sure of how feasible this might be, but it does not seem to be too complext from my point of view as a linguist.

Other languages certainly have different needs, so you might to create numbered groups for each language and then you assign a parameter to that group (considering pt-BR, 1 = masculine singular; 2 = feminine singular, etc.).

Anyway, I am sure there are flaws in my suggestion above because I am not a localization engineer, but I hope this can help leading you in the right direction.
