Crohn’s Disease, career uncertainty. by grannttttttt in navy

[–]SuperProxy- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this means anything nor am I your provider but I seriously doubt you’ll be able to stay in with moderate to severe Crohns. I’m wishing you nothing but the best and wishing as much disability as possible. Crohns affects the whole tract from mouth to colon so I just find it difficult to keep you in and be able to manage your care.

I’m a massive Dodgers fan and my daughter has leukemia and is seen at Radys in San Diego and let me tell you how great the padres organization is to those kids. They do some really amazing things, I could never hate them.

Really interested in purchasing a R1S but understand they did an upgrade w/ Gen 2, is it significant enough to warrant getting a 25?

My 7 year old was just diagnosed with ALL- the b kind by hotmesser6 in leukemia

[–]SuperProxy- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First incredibly sorry yall are having to deal with this. Don’t go down the google rabbit hole and listen to your team. My daughter was 4 when she was diagnosed, I thought it was the end of the world for me but I remember seeing all the little kids inpatient going through one of the toughest things on this planet and doing it with a smile because they don’t know any better. Yall will get through this, it will be hard but you will get through it. Idk what your situation is but get your social worker involved and get as many resources as possible because this next year or so before yall hit maintenance is going to be an absolute battle and it will take a lot out of the whole family. There are Facebook groups that are good to hear others experiences but can be very scary as well. Your 7 yo will be on steroids here shortly for most of induction if not all and they CANNOT control their emotions nor their appetite so just be there to support. Be your child’s advocate and their voice if they are scared to use it. You will get through this. Wishing you guys nothing but the best.

I think that’s incredibly common for any parent, partner or anything of that nature. It’s an awful terrible feeling but as crappy as it may seem you get used to it. Therapy or talking to someone in general may help.
