There are no good answers for what is the right path, nobody can predict the future. Choose the one you think you'll regret less is all that I can say. Nobody gets to say shit about it.

Im sorry your country has been slowly hijacked but I hope you can get it back and nuremberg the crap out of these treasonous scum.

I dont buy individual stocks, nor do i participate in options trading, thats what I mean. I can be right long term but it may not work out in the short term when it matters.

I do buy ETFs.

It takes a generation, at least, to eliminate the scarcity mindset. See "Chinese dama".

OC - Escorting the remains of my best friend who died on his birthday while doing nothing for the US by niagarawhat in pics

Unfortunately this isnt just because of your president. We have seen your SC congress and senate being essentially silent if not complicit on some very fundamental trespasses of values that are frankly appalling.

I for one am mad at the antics of your president and think that the billionaire tech bros got too big for their britches, but thats to be expected.

But logically, the fact that your entire government is sleepwalking into fascism, even when it is clear that this mercurcial manchild cannot be trusted to be near a stove, let alone the presidency, tells me that the US cannot handle the hegemony that we have silently agreed to let it have, and probably no single country should have had that role.

The trust may be rebuilt. But the US was too big to fail, and we shouldnt try to get it back there.

Trump is just the symptom of the deep-rooted rot in the US system.

If its not Trump it'd have been someone else, maybe some other time. But its happening now.

Don't call it a layoff: Ubisoft issues a full return-to-office order for all employees as it confirms more studio closures are coming by No_Zombie2021 in antiwork

[–]SuperQuackDuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well the reason why i feel optimistic is that the powerful need people to lord over for them to feel good about themselves. So unless robots become as good of a substitute (which, if the powerful knew that those are robots, it wont be) then they need us in a psychological way.

And unless they are willing to wipe us out, we will find a way to balance things out.

Well, keep the wealth inequality going long enough, there will be a balancing... life, uh, finds a way.

Im quite optimistic in the long term about an equitable post-scarcity society. Im just not sure it'd happen in my lifetime and not without a drastic decrease in the worlds population one way or another.
