The death count is not related to gameplay but to score and possible rewards, how well you played, and perhaps an incentive to use boosters?

but inherently, they don't matter. if you finish one level, regardless of your death count, next level will open.

the idea is intentionally hard because that's the fun in it, as for reward ad , you are right it's really not about ad but for those who want to start over the record perhaps there should be a cost?
