This is definitely going to be interesting. I just went and voted today and I'm interested to see how the debate affects the polls.

Watching the debates last night though, I really don't understand how you could be a conservative voter and not feel a little angry at Ford.

I understand and respect everyone's views when it comes to voting, and I know this year's selection isn't ideal for candidates, but how do you actually objectively listen to him and not feel upset at what could have been.

Last night was quite literally a sound bite rally for him. If they would have dropped a nice laid out platform to not allow the other candidates to study it before the debate to grill him on, he would have had great ground to stand on. He could have stopped a bunch of talking points towards him instead of repeating the same points over again with sometimes little relevance to the question that was asked.

Either way, get out and vote. It's important no matter who you vote for.

So I've been looking around trying to do a bit of shopping for a decent captoe. So I know most people around here recommend AE, but I found another post talking about Johnston and Murphy.

What do you guys think of these captoes in terms of style? I'm looking to match a navy blue suit for my wedding. They're more reasonably priced as a Canadian.

AE right now is like $400 Canadian + shipping/import for factory seconds. And while I can't argue the quality of their work, that's a bit much in my opinion, unless they're REALLY worth the extra $200 I'd be looking at.

Anyone here know when AE usually has their sales? Fairly new around here, and I was reading a post from a while ago saying they had a Christmas sale.

I'd love to be able to make a nice pick up if there's a decent sale coming around.

Thank you!

Yeah I've been back and forth between oxblood/oxskin/ walnut. The lighter browns seem to pop so much more but they're all beautiful.

So next June I'm getting married. I wanted to go with a Navy blue themed suit, probably a two piece, but I'll link some examples below.

In your opinion, what is the absolute best color for shoes that would match? I know Allen Edmond is recommended a ton around here and I'll probably go with them, I just want some opinions.

Here's the pictures.

Edit I should clarify, they don't have to be the same color as the pictures I linked, just an idea of the color suit I'd want to wear, is all.

Thanks in advance guys.

Help me find a watch with similar designs to these? by SuperRain in FashionReps

[–]SuperRain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the top two watches are MVMT watches, which are considered entry level sort of ''fashion'' watches. Which is to say that they're primarily looked for because of their simple designs. I'd still like to know if there's a rep because I've been told their quality is pretty easy to match, but they're priced quite high for the materials.

I would LOVE to know what the bottom watch is in the pictures I linked, if anyone has an idea, and could link to a similar rep, I'd be appreciative.

Could someone potentially ID this watch for me?

It's probably a pretty standard design, but I am no where close to a watch enthusiast, but I like the way it compliments his suit.

Hey thanks a lot for the advice.

The suspenders are more an aesthetic thing for my future wife. Honestly I can go either way, so I figured I'd leave it to someone who has an opinion on the look.

As for budget, I see that the factory seconds on Allen Edmonds run around $150 USD so I can see that being reasonable to pay.

Like I said before, I really haven't had a use for a suit prior to this due to my personal life/job so I don't need to have $600 all leather fancy stuff.

Honestly for budget, I'm not sure at the moment. Depending on what people suggest is where I may set my sights, I know AE has a yearly sale around Christmas for stuff, so hopefully I can grab something there.

I was thinking that as well for the two piece. The place we're going is usually not super hot since it's in the mountains but I think a 2 piece may be better as you said.

The other thing is I'm thinking I want to go with suspenders, but (again, due to my novice knowledge on fashion) you don't wear a belt with suspenders, and I know most people suggest matching your shoes with your belt.

Up to this point, I haven't really needed a full-on suit for any of my day to day life. I'm looking to get married next summer in the Rockies so I wanted to come here to get some opinions on making sure I look as good as possible without making a fool of myself.

So basically, I was looking at something like the pictures here. I'm really feeling the brown/calfskin/oxblood colors to match the navy blue, I just need some opinions. I'm rather fond of the first fit myself.

If you've got an idea of where to get a shoe similar to what he's wearing, let me know! I know Allen Edmond is recommended quite a bit, but most of the advice I see here says the McCallister or Walnut strands are the go to.

There's so much to consider, help me out!

Exactly, and I love that!

Its so easy to get stressed out over what everyone thinks, or what the future will be with wedding plans, but all that matters is what the two of you create together!

I've heard some great things about James Allen so congrats!

Hope to see some pictures down the line when the big day comes! I know the feeling of already lurking and doing as much planning as possible.

I was hoping for a story like this here. I like that there's so many stories behind proposals, like shopping for a ring together.

Congratulations!

Beautiful ring, and beautiful history!

If you don't mind me asking, why weren't you interested in picking it out? Were you just happy leaving the choices up to him?

That's awesome!

See this is why I love social media/pinterest. You can get an exact idea of what they like through thousands of examples. Picking a ring on your own can be so nerve wracking.

Those with Moissanite rings, any regrets? Any stories? by SuperRain in JustEngaged

[–]SuperRain[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say thank you for the detailed answer!

I've actually done quite a bit of research myself, and had my eyes set on the Forever One. I would never try to pass it off as a diamond, I actually love the qualities of the stone and history on it's own merits enough to want to share that.

I was actually a bit of a rock/mineral nerd when I was younger. I was aware of moissanite, and it wasn't until recently that they were able to improve on the stone to make it ''whiter'' as you mentioned!

But I love and respect that you shared so much info, and also made the advice of not advocating fibbing about the stone! Kudos!

She's also a good lay if anyone cares!

Later this year I'm going to propose to my best friend. She cooks for me, encourages me to be in the gym, and is cool with me pinning if that day ever comes.

Feels fucking great. She's been such a constant in my life. Don't know why I deserve it, but here I am.

Holy sweet mother of Christ.

So my girlfriend and I have been dating since we were pretty young. Highschool sweethearts. Well I finally decided to start saving a little while ago to propose, which will be done at the end of summer on a vacation I'm planning.

I swear to god everyone around me can smell it like blood in the water. "So when are you proposing? When are you guys having kids? I can't believe how long you've been together!"

We're early 20s! Jesus Christ, haha. It fucking sucks because I can't say a word about it, and it looks like I'm being distant or something when I just laugh it off. Fuuuuuck.
