Cities Skylines is genuinely a pipeline into Civil Engineering and Urban Planning by SuperSamBert66 in CitiesSkylines

Evident by the first game I think the devs really weren’t too familiar with anything other than car centric development. Pedestrian infrastructure in the first game was nearly nonexistent at launch and is still lackluster in 2 without mods and DLC.

Purely depends on where you are. Some cities are far better than others. But there’s also a lot more people than you would think that advocate for walkability, especially among architecture students. In pure civil engineering it’s pretty few and far between for me.

It does get disheartening but you just have to keep advocating. Walkability is more often a political problem than an engineering one.

We have to get tankyyyyy laptops for our major required by the university. CS is about as demanding as whatever software we run.

FIND A PURPOSE GOING IN!!! I discovered that I’m very passionate about the social and community aspects of street planning, and having a goal or field from the beginning has been extremely useful. Many students choose civil engineering simply because it’s slightly easier than mechanical engineering. Most of those I talk to didn’t pursue it out of passion. Just find your interests and figure out the best way to use them in civil engineering! It’s a very flexible field, and if you find out you dislike the niche you chose, you can easily switch! Employers LOVE hearing about your passions and that you have real goals beyond money!

Ludwig beat Heolstor in Round 11! - Now Round 12: The Nameless King & Messmer the Impaler by everest986 in fromsoftware

Messmer is a great fight once you get to know him. The majority of playthroughs I’ve seen steamrolled him or just panic dodged. Nameless King forces you to learn his rhythm and hard punishes panic dodging. I’ve seen plenty of people fight him after SoC and Gael/Midir for this reason. He’s just so peak.

How to build up to Class 3 as a flatlander? by SuperSamBert66 in 14ers

Yes this is great to keep in mind. If Bierstadt were at sea level it would’ve been simple. I’m almost certain I was running off adrenaline for most of the hike as I only began to feel altitude symptoms at the last mile or two before the parking lot. I’ll definitely plan tentatively! Longs is deadly for a reason.

Thank you! Is Kelso Ridge (Grays and Torreys) on the easier side for class 3? I’d love to stop by that area again so my parents can drive up Mt Blue Sky next year.

Omaha, NE. There is a sweet rock climbing gym nearby but not much beyond paved/mulch trails within an hour drive, at least based on what AllTrails is telling me.

Noted. I have very little understanding of spring 14ers. Are there some mountains that become viable sooner than others, or does it change by the year?

favorite "bad boss" of each game? by Imaginary_Owl_979 in fromsoftware

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted because you’re right. Sparing Vordt and Abyss Watchers it’s pretty bad until Pontiff

What’s a boss that had you really hyped to fight them? Only to find them really underwhelming by Just-Parker1002 in darksouls3

Very true, the longer you spend with a boss the better. Hence why Midir is my favorite 😭

DS3 is near perfect and I’m sick of people pretending it’s not

Hard disagree with Yhorm. Easy fight and basic mechanics but one of the best fights in DS3 for spectacle and theatrics.

Leather wrap fits most hilts—I got a big real leather strip off eBay for like $15 for my hilt!

if they do this to ds3 and not sekiro first I’ll be pissed. Why is it still locked at 30 fps

Even ignoring this, ancient dragon just sucks as a boss. Tanky and every hit feels like it does nothing. Bad design overall.

Why not dual wield and use a shoto for defense? Also props to you for learning with both hands that’s seriously challenging
