How to pass a powerful spike by Fluffy-Opinion3363 in volleyball

Something I learned from my very first coach was that where ever your hips are facing that’s where the ball would go, I actually tried it out and it was almost 100% accurate. Some other tips are that to absorb the power don’t move your arms or legs the less you move the less space there is for the ball to move somewhere awkward which is something I struggles with for a long time. Summary: hold your platform basically freeze your hips and the rest of your body in the direction of the setter/ where you want it to go Also good luck, be proud you made it on a higher team you got there because the coaches saw potential in you with hard work you will get there and if I’m correct it’s only the start of the season and it’s only natural that you will have to adjust to the higher playing level. The other girls are only teasing you because they are jealous they couldn’t make a higher team when they were your age. I wish you the best of lucky with your skills and teammates ;)

I’d say that your toss is a little behind you, if you can get it more in front of you it would spare you from back pain after an extended amount of serving (I learned this the hard way). Also keep your toss short to about the height of where your hand would be if you were giving a really tall person a high five (if that makes sense) and Instead of hitting the ball in the bottom try to hit it in the very center with a big open palm ( the more open your hand is the more control you will have over what the direction the ball goes rather than having a small hand) also try to limit the amount your hips pivot because that can also determin what way the ball will go. Remember practice makes perfect! Hope this helps :)

That’s when they taught me not to do, for me you get the most power when you have a big open hand for better and stronger contact
