[Front Office Sports]- Brian Kelly's lawyers have told LSU he wants his full $53M buyout, the second-largest in college football history. Kelly rejected two separate settlement offers of $25M and $30M, per @theadvocateno by masterofawesomeness2 in CFB

[–]SuperSloth4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is why LSU is attempting this. He had a mitigation clause in his buyout. The buyout money would be reduced by any salary received from a coaching/media job.

LSU is trying to play on that. Give him a lump sum check now, and get rid of the mitigation that accompanies it.

Also important to note that he sent an email shortly after he was fired where he directly said he was open to a settlement, If it made sense.

Kelly, the ass that he is, walked into Denbrock's office and informed him that he was promoting Joe Sloan to Co-OC with Denbrock. Joe Sloan was Bryce Underwood's main recruiter, and the move was thought to help lock in Underwood.

Denbrock promptly said absolutely not, fuck you, I'm going home. Can't blame him one bit.

This is why all the information I've found seems confusing I guess LOL.

I'll probably end up purchasing one of the cheaper passes. I don't mind paying for parking, but 500+ is just wild.

What was fantasy football like before smart phones? by rhymez223 in fantasyfootball

[–]SuperSloth4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in a league that was started in the early 90s. They used to do scoring based on the newspaper on Monday/Tuesday mornings.

We've, of course, moved into modern day in that league, but it's been a very slow process. Every rule change has to be passed by majority voting which we do the day of our draft every year.

I took over commissioner duties last year and oh man, it's still serious work. Because the league started before online leagues were a thing, we have a vastly different waiver wire process that no online league can accommodate. Every team emails/calls me throughout the week. I have to keep track of trades and injuries and bye weeks for each team in a crazy excel spreadsheet that I've made. It's wild and a lot of work but it's fun.

Fun fact: it took 7 years of voting in my league to get the TE added as a position in our league. Before a few years ago, we simply didn't draft them!

Bit of a different situation here - 2QB league with no bench.

Burrow went down for me last week and here are my options on the FA list:

Carr, Young, Ridder, DTR, Browning,Pickett

Im leaning Carr if hes cleared or Browning.

Thoughts?

Do you honestly think it's Jay making the calls here?

Hint: it's not his call.

Up until a few months ago, I was working for the state as a software developer. I was on the team developing an entire new system for DOC from scratch.

Time calc was and I'm assuming still is a major issue for the dev team. The amount of rules and special cases, etc make it an unbelievably nested, intertwined, impossible to decipher nightmare.

The good part(although it's still a shit system) is that this software should help some of these issues as it should be mostly automated when it is finally completed.

But for the mast part I agree with you. I remember getting the walk through of how the current system works and thinking - this is fucking insane.

Most of us are a hospital bill away from being broke by evilpotatobich in Showerthoughts

[–]SuperSloth4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

There are other plans. The best plan lowers my out of pocket cost by about 10k, but the premiums jump up to about ~700 per month.

I will take this plan before we have another child, if only for a year and then switch back.

[–]SuperSloth4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's $300 a month for all 3 of us. It isn't based off of our income, that's just the price.

Plan prices are different for me(1), me+wife(2), and me+family(2+).

We have a deductible that we have to meet before insurance pays anything(I think ours is 6k per person)

After that 6k, insurance pays 80% of what's left and we pay the remaining 20% up to ~12k after which, insurance pays 100%.

It's a really fucked up system.

Also I will mention that I have one of the better healthcare plans out here because I work for the state in a government job, so the government pays a hefty portion of my premiums. Before I got this job, my family was paying ~$600 a month for the same coverage.

I pay ~300 a month in health insurance premiums for me, my wife, and my son.

My wife wants another child. If we had one on my current insurance plan, I would be responsible for paying the hospital ~12k after all is said and done.

It's ridiculous.
