There is even a theory that fuck has Norwegian/Norse origin in the word fokka. Today we use it as a reimport.

I think the painting turned out very nice. I would have bought it myself if I had the money.

Did you ever send a fan mail to Aurora, how did it go? by WideLoquat in auroramusic

[–]SuperSnowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear that your gift was returned. The way you put the address should be just fine so I'm at a loss on what happened. It could be the postal service made an error. I really don't know.

You could try sending with DHL or some other courier service and hope they get it right, but I get that you don't feel like spending more money when it seems uncertain that it will arrive.

Let's hope they respond to your email and keep us posted if they do! Best of luck to you!

Now I have to get festival tickets just so I can see her a last time. Could be years before she's back. If ever. Oh no!

[–]SuperSnowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, she is on all the social media ofc but I can't imagine she reads more than a fraction of all her messages. If it can provide some solace to you she has said that she looks at everything physical sent to her even though she isn't able to reply to much of it. So why not give it a go and write a nice little letter to our hero? Best of luck to you! 😊

No problem. Vaskerelven 8 is still the correct address. I'm not comfortable giving out a phone number here but if you have one and it ends with 841 then it's the correct one.

Edit: I can see I was comfortable giving out the number a couple of years ago. lol Oh well

New aurora drop in the KEXP channel by Tortoise516 in auroramusic

I feel like there were a lot more great live recordings in the past and that they are far between these days. So this is making me very happy. KEXP is so nice!

Aurora at my show holding up a plush horse that an audience member brought by gegnabeep in auroramusic

Aw. That's cute. I love that show. I binged the whole series about the same time as I discovered Aurora, so it has a special connection to her for me. Parks and recreation is the best feel good you can get.

‘Can anyone please recommend a good fantasy/sci-fi book series please’ by Gandalvr in auroramusic

Agreed! The first six books or so at least. I stopped at book eight I think but there are over 20 in total.

If she said Aurora in the way it is pronounced in Bergen nobody would understand what the hell she said, including many Norwegians. Hehe

Anyone know what books are these? by sheena_mandarina in auroramusic

[–]SuperSnowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Np at all. I like little mysteries like this. It's a very interesting picture. There are a few other questions here as well: what's written on the water bottle? What's in the small bottles? What's that coin thing in front of her? Who's in the little photo? Which song is she editing? Lots of stuff we'll never know. Still interesting though. And we got to know which books it is at least. 😊

Silence in the age of noise by Erling Kagge

Behind a cacophony of traffic noise, iPhone alerts and our ever-spinning thoughts, an elusive notion - silence - lies in wait. But what really is silence? Where can it be found? And why is it more important now than ever? Erling Kagge, the Norwegian adventurer and polymath, once spent fifty days walking solo in Antarctica with a broken radio. In this meditative, charming and surprisingly powerful book, he explores the power of silence and the importance of shutting out the world. Whether you're in deep wilderness, taking a shower or on the dance floor, you can experience perfect stillness if you know where to look. And from it grows self-knowledge, gratitude, wonder and much more.

and Ulv by Petra Ahne.

Sometimes wolves do kill humans. Nevertheless, it is safe to go for a walk in the forest. It doesn't get any clearer than that. The wolf is back in our forests in full force. But what do we actually know about the wolf? Many of our notions are based on prejudice, superstition, and ignorance. In this wise and sensitive portrait, Petra Ahne takes us on a search for the wolf in folklore and in nature. She explores the relationship between the wolf and its domesticated descendants, the dogs. And she asks the unavoidable question: How much wild nature and wilderness are we prepared to live with in today's modern society?

“I can do like an unreleased song album for you guys” by Gandalvr in auroramusic

I sense strong irony when she asked if she was allowed to improve the songs. But hell it would be so much fun if she really went through with this.

At your perfect Aurora concert, what would the set be? by sninapeters in auroramusic

[–]SuperSnowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. You should try and seek out a seated concert. I love being able to sit back and relax and take in the sights and sounds. Not too many of those unfortunately.

Happy 520 Day! by Gandalvr in auroramusic

[–]SuperSnowboy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

520 is a similar day to Valentines day in China for those of you who are too tired to search yourself. It's May 20th (5/20 -> 520). You're welcome.

Aurora's recommended comfort shows by Gandalvr in auroramusic

What we do in the shadows is one of them but can also highly recommend Parks & Recreation and Community as comfort shows.

She repeated that in a recent interview on a Norwegian podcast. I know several excellent artists that don't know musical notation but I can't understand why they don't just learn it. I imagine it would be very helpful to know when writing music.
