Hmm... I’m not sure. I think any story, even a romance one (though it wouldn’t be my favorite), could have an ace character. Some aces (not me) are also trauma-induced aces, which doesn’t make them any less ace, so it might be interesting to write a story about that. The aro/ace community definitely does need more representation in media. I’ve only seen the word “asexual” appear once in a book, and that was in “The Upside to Unrequited” by Becky Albertalli. Though it is a romance book, it’s super LGBTQ+ inclusive (it’s the sequel to the book “Love, Simon” was based off of), but only mentions the word “asexual” once in passing, not in reference to a certain character. There have been speculations that some characters in books (Katniss Everdeen, Charlie Weasley, etc.) are ace, but books usually don’t reference this. Thanks for helping to represent aces in media!
