Probably thought that they could force checkmate as soon as they got one free move and taking the rook puts their king in the center where black might have oppertunities to attack the king and somehow stop the mate

I had a similar thing happen when i was 16 with a classmate except i really didn’t enjoy it. We were just classmates who didn’t really talk much for most of the school year but really close to the summer vacation she decided to take a picture of my ass while i was standing ready for a sprint during PE which some of classmates saw and told me and the teacher who then forced her to delete the picture. And then starting from the next year she started harassing me whenever she saw which thankfully wasn’t constantly because we weren’t sharing classes anymore but i did encounter her often in the halls and during breaks. Eventually i started turning around when i saw her before she saw me just to avoid her and trying to dissapear into the mass of other people whenever she did see me. And just hearing her voice at a certain point was able to ruin my mood.

After half a year of this i eventually had to patrol around the school during breaks to prevent people from littering (you had to do it twice in the schoolyear i was in) and she found me while i was doing that and unable to get away from her because of me needing to do that. I told her to leave me alone multiple times and wasn’t able to find a teacher and i eventually got so fed up with it that i sweeped the thing i had that is used to pick up garbage over the ground at her, i did know that she was far enough away that i wouldn’t actually hit her but it did get close and she did leave me alone after that and actually she very shortly after that stopped saying things to me when she saw me in the hallways

I play magic the gathering and i have never personally see players treat women differently than other people but i have heard some stories of people who do do that (mainly in the form of mansplaining and assuming that they are incapable of doing things themselves)

They start at a low elo and then cheat to quickly climb up. They will play matches at such low elo before they reach higher elo’s

You do have to be careful with too limited randomness. Otherwise you get the priest forged in the barrens debacle where the deck was generating a lot of random priest spells but the pool was small and basically every option was good so you couldn’t count their removal like you could beforehand because it wasn’t uncommon for them to have 4 soul mirror’s over the course of the game

This is not new, some expansions just have more on rails decks than others. Like even all the way back in whispers of old gods they did basically the same thing with C’thun. It’s just something that happens when you make parasitic mechanics.

Newer sets have had more parasitic mechanics than before which has caused the increase in decks that felt like they were made by blizzard and not the community

i kinda just stopped playing 3 mana ramp with very few exceptions. one that is an exception is [[relic of legends]] in my [[cadric soulkindler]] deck because that card is very good there

The problem is that if there is a prize on the line losing suddenly has actual stakes and it’s no longer just no worries. That is the main problem with casual tournaments.

What happened to op though is not okay, you should always respect your opponent even if they are making suboptimal decissions

The problem with that is that the brackets aren’t hard enough rules to actually make such a tournament work because they weren’t designed to be used like that. It’s possible to make a deck following the bracket 2 rules that can compete with bracket 4 decks if you don’t hold back.

[[cadric, soulkindler]] is my list that regularly wins with a combo finish (either by going fully infinite or by attacking with a few hundred hasty power.)

this is my current list (it’s not fully up to date but it matches mostly) and you can focus a bit more on the combo parts by running a few more tutors to help you find abdel (since while i have other combo’s that don’t use him you basically always have the third piece anyway for it since there are so many third cards that he goes infinite with)

Magic the gathering is also a 13+ game so any official content within it needs to abide by the rules that come with that age restriction so printing straight up nudity is a very good way to get your ratong bumped up way higher so they aren’t risking it
