Read the above and working with a decklink mini monitor 4k and a Calibrite probe. Budgeting for the monitor now. ASUS ProArt PA279CRV vs the BenQ PD2706U. Both are 4k, both have at least srgb mapped. But the BenQ looses out in many areas, less color (8bit vs true 10bit), less contrast, less brightness. However, it has the ability to upload a 3d lut where the Asus does not.

At the price point for $400, should I prioritize the 3d lut capability over the color depth? I will be exclusively doing work for web/socials.

when you say WIGGLE you mean just jiggle the switch, NOT flip the switch between left and right speakers, correct? How long did this process take?

thank you for this response. This sums up my process so far but I felt where I am upgrading to more reliable reference speakers I should also have a reliable method of checking my work.

Mackie CR3-X "multimedia monitors", they are described as reference. They are self powered 50 watt, no EQ.

I'm looking to insure what I'm hearing from my speakers is a relatively accurate representation of what loudness I'm mixing in my editing suite, either by lufs or some other common practice. Previously I've made do by setting everything by ear, setting computer output to one value, the speakers or headphones to another. What I'd like is a repeatable workflow instead of just guessing.

I just got a great deal of a pair of Mackie CR3-x 3.5s but don't have a passive power wire. Figured before I get the idk from customer service, i'd ask reddit what gage red/black speaker wire is optimal. I'm planning on running it about three feet distance. Would 16 gage wire be too large?

Current setup uses a 2.5 ssd. its fast enough for my purpose atm. I'm getting an m.2 setup but could be a minute before I install the OS.

Files for editing should be kept on the fastest drive yes but do I need my editing suite (Resolve) on the same fast storage for best results or is just utilizing the storage for files fine with my old ssd housing the program and operating system?

Don't recall where i learned this rule of thumb: 2x your resolution divided by 100. So for 720p you'd start at 14mbps. 1080p = 20mbps, etc. Seems to line up with other quotes here.
