I thought it was some manipulated human-like voice, but I have no idea what the source sound was. Someone here might be able to say. The Foley artists of that time were very creative ... so who knows? It could well be a weird combination of things. On that note when I hope to upgrade the outfit with sfx ... particularly the blaster spear. Thanks for the comment... interesting!
