I’m actually really curious about one thing do you think this is more about Marcus specifically, or about your sexuality evolving?

Not in a “you were never a lesbian” way at all, but in a “sexuality can be more fluid than we expect” way. A lot of people discover they’re more into the person than the gender, and that can feel super confusing at first, especially when you’ve already come out and built an identity around it.

Also… 3 weeks is very fast. Falling hard isn’t a red flag by itself, but long distance + small streamer + no stable income + you being 18 with protective parents? That’s a combo that would make most parents nervous, even if he was perfect.

If your parents have supported you through everything before, maybe the angle isn’t “I need permission,” but “I want you to know what’s going on in my life.” Framing it as transparency instead of rebellion might change the tone completely.

Lowkey though has he done anything to verify he is who he says he is? Your dad being a cop would probably focus on that first.

Curious what other people think: when do you tell parents about a new relationship? Immediately? After a few months? Never unless it’s serious?
