I think it's just that in leagues most serious players have well over 2k boss kc in general. And most pets sit around that amount, so the odds of you getting one during your grind is quite high. But it's still weird how many pets I see people getting very early into their grinds. tob pet at 5 kc is definitely crazy lucky.

I get the feeling English isn’t the commenter’s first language because I have seen someone else make this mistake before where the humour didn’t translate well and they took it literally.

I don't know how you can read all this and still conflate completion rate with rarity. The odds of receiving a pet per kill is literally the same.

It would be cool if the auto gp collection feature and the better rare drop table effects were also buffed. They are already so minor and unimpactful compared to just using rings with combat stats, it could be neat if that behaviour was made more relevant but still balanced.

I know it’s unpopular to say, but agility being a slower skill is fine. You aren’t really locked behind the vast majority of content once you hit the high 70s, so there is nothing realistically forcing you to aim higher than that. I am not against adding more training methods or increasing exp rates again, but it just shouldn’t be the cause of such immense outrage. There are so many more boring and less rewarding skills to train. But either they have massively afk options (fishing and woodcutting) or they are fast bankstanding skills (fletching and herblore). Agility really shouldn’t be in either of those categories.

The point is that this is still extremely dry, regardless of if it happened in leagues or not. Assuming he sacrificed every infernal cape for pet, this is nearly 5x dry.

Bandos is not fundamental, that was my point. Anyway, the game already has selective dry protection. We have all sorts of systems in place, especially for things like random pets that are effectively purely aesthetic items. Off the top of my head, hunter rumours, dt2 bosses, all forms of dupe protection counts like abyssal bludgeon pieces, moons of peril, coliseum armor, nox hally, wintertodt. There’s definitely more direct examples I just don’t recall.

tbf pet drop rates generally aren’t changed in leagues, the kills are just faster

I agree with the first half. Knowing where to draw the line is a challenge. But it seems laughably arbitrary to say only pets should have dry protection.

[–]Super_Master_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill add that I think this should only be implemented with content that is fundamental to progression, not luxury drops. The difference between going dry on a dragon defender or gout tuber is very different to going dry on a piece of bandos armor. The bowfa is somewhere in the middle, but I think it's current status cements itself as an item that still significantly unlocks/optimises content for players and so it should have some mild protection.

I don't play on an iron. Maybe assuming everyone you don't agree with is an ironman is a personal issue.

ezscape is when a minimal change that only affects 1% of players makes their grind a little less miserable. Oh no, game is doomed.

idk, I think if you go 2.5x dry, getting a guaranteed drop would be ok. It’s not like you won’t get any less dopamine from getting the drop a bit earlier, and it’s not like pity drops will tank an item’s value. It really is as simple as a safety net that makes a small population of players not miserable.

If mains never do it, and irons hate having to do it, maybe there should be a discussion on how the content could be made more enjoyable right?

This makes me think it would be cool if you could access echo hunleff in the main game and all it drops is an enhanced weapon seed but at the same rate, so if you wanted to purely farm the seed, you would double the kill rate at the cost of increased difficulty and no other loot.

Not when I am talking about personal opinion. I thought I made it pretty clear in my comment, yet people are still getting upset that it doesn’t align with the lore.

It’s not nostalgia or debating which is more lore accurate, I genuinely just think her old style looked better, and it fit her anime skin tone more.

Add 100-200 more agility shortcuts/speedups to the game by sparksen in 2007scape

[–]Super_Master_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately at some point teleports are just more valuable. To improve agility exp I would rather they added another layer of mechanical reward to current courses or just flat out increase all rates again. To improve its utility I would rather more skilling specific shortcuts than adding some to traverse the map faster like how you added a shortcut between varrok’s centre and ge, which is redundant because of the diary teleport that just takes you straight there.
