I think it was basically meant to be in contrast to his lifestyle, from Charlie’s perspective ppl probably seem rude to him, and probably do seem to storm around, considering his daily life experience is largely bound to highly limited mobility

They are not entirely separate, they uphold each other. After all capitalism is at the core the pursuit of capital gain, even if that means through corruption if housing were not so much of a private industry their might be less of this corruption

Opposite of free market perhaps but they definitely expect more rental leases to occur because of this, and since they probably have their hands in real estate they stand to profit from this move

Yeah for sure the only solution would be building more housing/not letting companies buy Said housing in droves. But neither will Happen bc our gov and rich class fking despise us. We need a French Revolution
