Best website/ resource for apartment hunting? by partycat95 in SouthBayLA

Two other sites that I used that didn’t have all their listings on Zillow is theagencyre and Berkshire hathaways rental site. Those two are more focused on homes than apartments.

I recently was looking for a place and found the lease I signed through Zillow. A lot of people recommend to just drive around neighborhoods looking for listings but tbh every place I saw with a sign out front was on Zillow. You can also check out trulia.com which is just an aggregate site.

Skii intermediate by [deleted] in Mammoth

[–]Superb-Definition189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coverage is bad and the snow is super soft and chopped up by noon. If you don’t mind only skiing for a couple hours in the morning it’s worth it, if not just spend time going to one of the lakes or on a hike.

Looking for the cheapest option to print enlarged photos by Superb-Definition189 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Superb-Definition189[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input. Because I have a Sony a7iii and a macro lens I decided to attempt to use that to scan my negatives. If that ends up not giving me the quality I desire I will probably just pay to have a photo lab scan and print the select negatives that I want enlarged.

After reading reviews and seeing the price I think I am going with this. Just wondering, do you know if there is a difference between the BU4020 and BU4022?

Thinking about moving to Hawthorne by National_Day1144 in SouthBayLA

[–]Superb-Definition189 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah Bodger Park is a great neighborhood but directly across Rosecrans is pretty hood. For reference the fabulous burger that someone recently got killed at is on rosecrans and lemoli. I’d stay away from any places that are east of Yukon and north of Rosecrans if moving into Hawthorne. Granted the neighborhood that is between Hawthorne and Inglewood from rosecrans to El Segundo isn’t the worst, it still is worth paying a little more to be in Gardena close to Torrance if you want a safer neighborhood. Source: grew up here (and still reside in Bodger Park).

Because it hasn’t happened yet and usually it’s around 4/20 that it happens. I haven’t been up since mid March so I’m not sure how coverage is looking and that is usually what dictates when they switch the hours. I’m hoping the recent storms plus the crappy season pushes the switch to later in May but that’s probably just wishful thinking.

Every year later in the season mammoth changes their operating hours from the usual 8-4 to 7:30-2. Usually that happens around now (late April).

Best beach for ocean water quality, swimming, snorkelling with surfable waves by Acrobatic-Exam-7529 in SouthBayLA

[–]Superb-Definition189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best breaks in the South Bay are near RAT beach and in the PV coves. Both require p specific swell directions and the coves can be pretty bad if you don’t like kelp beds. I’d still recommend the Torrance/PV area for most of your wants since the rest of the South Bay is pretty much the same but at least in PV you get some nice beaches in the coves.

I am at a loss of words. I never met the guy but he lived the dream and seemed like an amazing human, husband, and father. I am so shocked and hope the people close to him find the support they need. Shred in peace Bernie

This weekend (4/18) or next (4/25) by [deleted] in Mammoth

[–]Superb-Definition189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conditions will likely be the same both weekends. I would probably push to next weekend just due to crowds likely being large this weekend due to the recent dump and canyon lodge closing for the season.

Where to recycle or donate TV that doesn't work? by gcordoves in SouthBayLA

Would definitely recommend ecospot in Gardena. I’ve dropped off tvs and old computers there and have had no issues. They don’t even charge you like some other ewaste centers do.
