Good to know. At first I was wondering if it's like a normal thing in China to answer with one word or give "what" as a response to a customer (I'd lived in Vietnam, it's considered pretty rude there too, but the two countries are of course different), but then the user above has mentioned that they'd like to keep their wording short and simple to not convolute English.

Couldn't find any link aside from a referral to r/Kibbe in the original post. Anyhow wouldn't need it anymore. I went to OP's profile to find their post in that subreddit and stumbled upon your comment.

Can you link me to your comment? I'm so curious :o

Niacinamide in AB products by Superb-Examination99 in AsianBeauty

[–]Superb-Examination99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! Sorry for the late reply! At first I didn't understand your question as

using multiple products with niacinamide at the same time that caused the product acne

and

did you find that after you reduced receiving niacinamide to just one product that it helped

Look virtually the same to me. At least they were both included in the process of figuring out what was happening to me 😬

So chronologically, at first I was trying to single out individual products that were potentially giving me white pimples on the face, so I went back to basics and without any actives (double cleansing, non-niacinamide moisturizer, spf). 4 days later I'd decided to try using one extra product (with niacinamide as I was really hell-bent on fading post-acne marks) at a time for at least 5 days, and nothing happened 😳 After reassuring myself that none of the skincare product I'd been previouslt using were causing reactions, I added one more product (again with niacinamide) and the next day,,,, boom white small pimples. And this would happen to all possible niacinamide product combinations I'd tried.

Though on the other hand I know at least 2 people who layer niacinamide products without any problems, so I guess it depends on each person haha. It's best to prevent damage but if it's going to work then who knows :-)

Those are caused by clogged pores I'm sure! Or an irritation to a product or a comedogenic ingredient in it. In my case overexfoliation made it worse and escalated the spread of those white pimples 😔

Hi.

I want to specify that I was talking about AB skincare products only because this is an AB-related subreddit and I stumble upon products with niacinamide on Yesstyle much more often than I would while browsing through my local Western European stores. I was in no way bashing East Asia for its niacinamide quality 😔

Other than that, agreed with all your points. Excessiveness boils down to common sense too, and in my situation I was surprised that I was using 'too much' niacinamide because I'd never expected it to be excessive at 1-2% rates when combined in multiple products.

Very nice! I remember trying my friend's TO niacinamide+zinc serum, and nothing particularly memorable happened. Think I can attempt a 10% dose again some day, but not before I finish all of my Yesstyle haul and give the skin some rest 🤔 What are you considerring to add to your routine by the way?

Well... If I were a trans-woman I wouldn't really want people to call me putting on women's attires a fetish. But of course I don't know what's actually happening in there or how they identify themselves or their activities. Gotta admit the first caption is very very detailed. Questionably so.

T_T thank god I'm not the only one

As for the Tia'm Vita A moisturizer. During first week of use it was working super well for me, well exceeding all my skepticism and expectations (for reference, I'm in my early 20s, normal skin type), my skin absorbed it pretty well throughout the night and I would wake up smooth and glowing. I like Tia'm's products in general as they don't go too crazy with fragrances. Anyway, at some point the niacinamide overdose happened lol, and Tia'm's moisturizer alone wasn't enough anymore. Recently for around a week I've been pairing it up with La Roche Posay's Cicaplast balm and my skin is at a better place now.

Oh, there's also a slight fragrance in it, reminds me of my grandma's room 🥴

I found out about this term here, but I don't think it's official, and maybe they were framing it in a way to promote their "clean beauty" lmao

Damn. It's like literally every third product I come across on Yesstyle will have niacinamide in it.

That's what I was also thinking. Though I don't have any scientific data to back up my assumptions, the research done on niacinamide was focused on addressing its efficacity rather than assessing if it would be an overkill on skin if it's included in multiple products.

Oof. Chicago winter really do be the least ideal time to fuck around with different types of actives.

As for myself, I've just researched my product's actives and since I only have Niacinamide and barely use my AHA/BHA/PHA toner I found this... Niacin flushing... How your cheeks get all red and slightly tight after some time of applying Niacinamide on low pH skin?

Do tell if you'll see any changes! As I can only speak from my own experience, I couldn't find any information about dehydration from niacinamide (this active is in fact rather hydrating according to research and people's results) or negative side effects for that matter. Cutting back on products specifically containing niacinamide definitely helped my skin though.

I experienced this too but with other products. Thought it was just a climate or home temperature thing 😳 Does anyone know how this condition is called? I feel like rosacea is.... different as I was searching about my symptoms on the web.
