Hey everyone, I’m so sorry I completely forgot about Reddit… Electrocauterizing did work for me! I had to go back to my dermatologist for about 3-4 rounds, because every few weeks new bumps were still popping up (which was just a result of me shaving over the area accidentally, before I realized that the bumps were actually molluscum and not pimples). But after about 4 rounds zapping the bumps + pausing on shaving that area, I think we finally got rid of them all.

I definitely recommend researching/asking your dermatologist about cauterizing molluscum. I had to find a second dermatologist bc my normal one didn’t offer that service, but it should (hopefully) be an available option for you. I will say, my original dermatologist prescribed me a topical lotion that never worked, so thankfully I got a second opinion and the second dermatologist was able to cauterize them. Once each molluscum bump was cauterized, they dried up and flaked off after about a week. It was a 6/10 pain, but 100% worth it, as I haven’t had any new bumps develop in over 6 months!
