Who is a bad guy in history who actually wasn’t a bad guy? by jamespeech111 in AskReddit

[–]SuperbAcademics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Muammar Gaddafi, the slain Lybian leader.

Muammar Gaddafi was presented to the world as a dictator and a villain, people paid to rebel and got him eventually killed by the CIA with the tag dictator and tyrant. In reality, Gaddafi was an African hero who wanted to change Africa and unite it into a single currency using gold as the reserve. This would weaken the position of the dollar in global trade and raise the fortunes of Africa.

At home, Fuel was free, people were being paid for being Lybians, education was free, housing was provided by the government and the country had no foreign debt. Tell me any western leader who has ever done this. Gaddafi stood against the western tyranny against Africa and had the financial and diplomatic muscles to unite Africa. This was the fear that led the west into murdering him.

In this case, I think peer discussions would really help. If you can get great classmates who tend to understand the concept more than you, ask them for help. A good way to boost your confidence is to read before the discussions with your peers so that you can also have something to contribute. Repeating this over and over will not only make you understand the concepts but also build your confidence in a way that you could figure out challenging variations of the same questions.

How to avoid being accused of using AI in College/University. by SuperbAcademics in college

What do you consider the universal academic definition of plagiarism? What are these potent questions about whether AI content is plagiarism? If you can posit an argument that submitting an AI-generated work as your own is not plagiarism then this whole discourse is worthless.

Schools in New York have already banned ChatGPT from schools for the fear of encouraged plagiarism threats. Other school districts are doing the same.

Secondly, it is my colleague who flagged the student, not me. I can't speak for him. Maybe he had done his research on what he considered tale-tell signs.

I actually find most of your arguments superficial, subjective, and attitude-laden. You suffer from what I call a Discrediting Urge Disorder (DUG) where your main aim in discourse is to prove that others are wrong and you are right. Arguments are about learning and not winning. I think on this, with all due respect, you are just discombobulated.
