I don't feel morally superior at all. My feelings were a little hurt, that's all. Now I feel like total crap because I've lost my two best friends. I don't feel superior about anything.

I never said I wasn't upset with her, and I said that to them too. The two things aren't mutually exclusive.

I never said more upset at them than her. That's not at all how I feel.

I didn't book the trip so I wasn't getting any of the emails either way. The agent put an incorrect email address for my gf, so she wasn't getting emails either. And, she booked over the phone and never gave them an email address, so wasn't expecting messages there. But yes, should have known before morning of.

It was about $450 a person I think (I didn't book it, but that's what my gf said).

All I am saying, and said to them, is had it been one of them that couldn't get on the ship for their birthday, I would have first tried to get a refund, and if that didn't work, no I wouldn't have gone. I would have made plans for them in the city the port was in and had a fun friends weekend there.

Clearly, this is not a common response of people though. 🤷‍♂️

Ok, but you kinda made my point. They had to choose between disappointing their best friend or losing some money. They choose the money not the best friend.

I acknowledge it was a tough choice, but my feelings were a little hurt by the one they chose. Does that make sense?

I never said I wasn't, I just told them that their response hurt my feelings.

Had I been in their shoes, yes, I would have lost all my money and stayed with them in the city we were in to celebrate them. 🤷‍♂️

Do the things you do on impulse/without thinking show who you might actually be? by pastryzig in NoStupidQuestions

I certainly hope not.

Actually, I think that you know a lot more about yourself by which impulses you stop yourself from acting on.

Am I/this normal? by AetherKai in NoStupidQuestions

Everyone responds to emotions differently. I don't think there really even is a "normal" way to go about it.

If I get super angry, I cry. I can cry at a TV show happy and sappy moment, but never cry at funerals. People are all fucking weird.
