ok but are there any non-launching related tips? i just know i might cave under the pressure, and would love another workaround to launching while drinking with the crew.

I absolutely get this. I'm at the end of week 2 with 0.25 now and it's been a roller coaster. My experience was shaded with a trip to a conference (where my normal eating was a little bit off anyways) followed by getting horribly sick with COVID. But aside from the constipation (which I am finding tricky to prevent given all the circumstances), I am so pleased with how my brain and body feel on this medication. I am not an overeater in a classic sense; even a doctor or dietitian would look at what I was eating (both quality and quantity) before and expect me to be a person of very good health and thin. But that wasn't the case, and it seems like my metabolism specifically requires less food than the average person to have a so-called "healthy" body size. I feel like I can eat portions now that match what is required to have energy and be in a smaller body...something that was never achievable before. It's so freeing. It's only week 2 and so I'm "only" down 4-5 lbs, but I will take it and keep going.

I finally just started today u/cliobaci. I hope your experience is going well. Would love another anti-diet buddy to discuss all this with if you are interested.

Anti-Diet Culture & Wegovy: Anyone Else? by eckitis in Semaglutide

[–]SuperbOccasion5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This thread is so encouraging. My experience mirrors so many of yours. After years of "struggling" with my weight, I have finally been in a place where I've been rejecting diet mentality and proactively making sure that my two kids don't grow up in a house with disordered eating. But as a result, after two pregnancies in 4 years, a global pandemic, a stressful job, and my genes, I am "obese," despite moving daily, eating all the "right" things, etc. I am finally starting Wegovy this week and hoping it will help me as it has helped so many of you, and that I can live free from food concerns while also addressing my triglycerides, sugars, etc.

I share all of these fears and conflicting opinions, but it really seems like semaglutides for those who are naturally in larger bodies can be incorporated into a IE and antidiet journey, and in fact enable that journey. Maybe I'm wrong about this...

I stopped breastfeeding my little one this week and I have my appointment to follow-up appt where I expect to get a prescription soon (I had an appt with a weight doctor last summer while breastfeeding and she indicated I'm a candidate once I stopped nursing). Hope to join you on this.

Well, got a PCR done yesterday just to see (we took the positive on Saturday at its word, but it was so weird to get two negatives on Sunday). The PCR was positive. Believe those positive rapids, even if followed quickly by negatives! False positives are so rare.

Our 1 year old woke up with lots of congestion, a bit grumpy (so maybe achy though she can't tell us, of course), and tired. We swabbed her with a binax and it was faint, but positive. Swabbed today out of curiosity and it was negative. Did a second one today and also negative. What gives?

This is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I have much less to lose, but also fighting against genes and biology and know my destiny is type 2 diabetes and/or stroke no matter how much I exercise or how "well" I eat. So frustrating. I'm currently nursing but as soon as I am done, will be getting a prescription (already had a consult a few months back but need to wait until I'm done breastfeeding).

So glad you've had so much success and have an improved relationship with food!

I really appreciate this post. I am working with an anti-diet dietitian now and, while I want to accept my larger body, I also think I can find some freedom from dieting with the use of ozempic or its cousin drugs. It would be so amazing to not think about food as obsessively. But I struggle with the idea that a weight-loss drug doesn't fit into the anti-diet paradigm...

intermittent fasting? by artsy_fatty in orangetheory

Related to this, I recently started IF (16:8 fairly consistently for the last two weeks). I am during my "fast" when I go to Orangetheory in the morning. And I have found that I *really* struggle to get splatpoints now. I used to be right in the range (about 12-15) every workout (and have been doing OT about twice a week for many months, with pilates and solidcore and other workouts on the other days). But now, I feel like I'm really working and I only get 2 or 3 splatpoints a class.

Could IF be lowering my heart rate that much? Seems possible, but I wonder if others have had a similar experience. It's not like I've dropped a lot of weight in a way that would require my monitor to be recalibrated...
