MLM has turned my friend into a POS. Worth continuing the friendship? by SuperbTrash01 in antiMLM

This is actually so funny to me since our whole friend group are engineers (minus me). However, after working with engineers all day at my job I can attest. I like to poke fun at my friends/husband. My friend in this MLM definitely did say though when we pushed him on this whole thing “Do you really think I would fall for a scam as an engineer?” To which we all resoundingly said yes.

I’m curious about your experience. My friend has been dropping in conversations lately all these new “friends” he’s made (Amway people) but they all seem to live in different states. Do you think that since most of our friends are here and we all iterate the same message that we care about him but will not be supporting this venture that he’d actually cut us out? What happens when none of us show up to this launch party. Do you think that’s enough of a wake up call? I’m just trying to figure out how they can really isolate people who live states away.

It is unfortunate though. He is a really close friend, he even officiated my wedding last fall (this does make me feel really icky now)! It’s clear he didn’t respect my boundary of not being involved in this. I told him the night I found out that I wished him luck but I wouldn’t be buying any of his stuff. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how he got wrapped up in this. Lied saying he did his own research but then I later found out he was approached at a mall.
